***4WD/AWD Vehicle Highly Recommended***
Welcome to our cozy cabin where you can enjoy stunning views, privacy, and seclusion. There are 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a full kitchen, office, loft, comfy living area and outdoor covered deck. Outside there is a firepit and plenty of parking.
The cabin is in the country yet a quick drive from I-77. It sits in secluded woods surrounded by nature on a small mountaintop. If you want a quiet, private place to think or relax that is still close to wonderful small towns, local vineyards, and historical sites, this is the place for you.
SLEEPING:
The cabin features 2 bedrooms w/ clean and comfy linens:
- Main floor bedroom: King bed, nightstands with reading lamps, blackout shade and a storage/clothing rack.
- Upstairs bedroom: Queen bed, nightstands with reading lamps, Roku TV, blackout shade, small wall-mounted clothes rack.
LIVING SPACE:
Inside, you'll find a cozy open living area on the main level. Admire the views from indoors or catch up on your favorite shows with the 55" Roku TV and fast Starlink internet. There is an electric fireplace to add some ambiance, games, books and puzzles.
One of our guests' favorite spots is the covered deck - the perfect spot to sip coffee or enjoy a glass of wine while admiring the valley below. Watch the sunrise from the rocking chairs out front or relax in the seating area on the side deck as the sun sets. The deck wraps around two sides of the cabin and also has a gate at the entrance to keep your furry friends contained.
The cabin offers a full kitchen with all the essentials, including an electric range, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, dishes, glassware, pots and pans, and utensils. We also provide basic seasonings, cooking oil, enough coffee for your first few pots, coffee creamer, sugar, and sweetener. The dining table seats 4 and there are an additional 2 seats at the kitchen counter.
Upstairs is an open loft space with a sitting area at a picture window that looks out over the mountain valley. The second bedroom is located upstairs as well as an office with a door for privacy, desk and comfy couch.
The full bath is on the main level and has a tub/shower combination. Pack light - we supply the essentials - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, toilet paper and towels.
The cabin is supplied with well water, which has a different mineral content compared to city water. We recommend bringing along some bottled water. There is a water filtering system for the cabin that removes some mineral content, and a reverse osmosis filtered water faucet at the kitchen sink.
OUTSIDE:
In addition to the outdoor covered deck, you'll find Adirondack chairs arranged around a fire pit in the back yard. Bring along a bundle of firewood and relax around the campfire. There is also a charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal) and a picnic table.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
4WD/AWD HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Please note that the driveway to the cabin is gravel and at an incline, and 4WD/AWD is highly recommended. Please reference reviews from past guests. Two-wheel-drive vehicles and SUVs may not be able to ascend the driveway due to the grade. We recommend arriving before sunset, not only to witness the stunning sunset but also because the road to the cabin is winding and not lit by streetlights.
HEATING/AC: You can enjoy year-round comfort with central heat and air conditioning, and during cooler months, you can add some ambiance and warmth with the fireplace (electric). The upstairs does not have heating vents but stays warm with the rising air from the downstairs and is supplemented with a space heater in the bedroom for chilly nights.
SUPPLIES: We provide basic cleaning supplies and dish soap, as well as a starter kit of paper towels and toilet paper. Bed linens and towels are also provided, along with basic amenities such as hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. For longer stays, you may want to bring a few extra towels and toiletries.
LOCAL AREA:
When you stay at our cabin, you can disconnect and enjoy a private getaway. Many visit to simply stay in and relax. If you want to explore more of Virginia's Blue Ridge, there's plenty to see! Expect a bit of a drive for most restaurants and shopping. You can visit the New River State Park - Foster Falls (15-20 min) for hiking, biking or walking along the river, rent bikes and canoes, go river tubing, fishing or arrange a guided horseback trip. You can also explore nearby towns such as Hillsville, Wytheville and Galax to shop at unique antique stores, visit wineries and breweries, and find some great dining spots. Most activities and towns are a 30+ minute drive from the cabin but there are some great spots (Iron Heart Winery is a favorite) within about a 15 minute drive.
OUTDOOR CAMERA: There is an outdoor camera facing the outside staircase/entrance. It is on 24/7 and can record video and sound.
