IGUANA AZUL is an ole time Florida beach cottage nestled so snug up against the ocean that you will feel like you are on a boat. Go to sleep at night listening to the waves crashing on the untouched beach in front of you. Wake up to the morning sun rising out over the eastern horizon right off the Moroccan coast.
Take casual beach walks down to Sebastian Inlet as you experience the natural Florida beach the way time has always known it. Enjoy some of the best fishing on the Florida coast off the Inlet jetty or just right off the beach.
From May until November, watch sea turtles come ashore to lay their nests or see hatchlings dig free to frenzy down to the water's edge. Half of all sea turtle nests on the Atlantic and Gulf coasts are laid in this 20 mile stretch of pristine undeveloped beach.
Watch marine life swim in the open ocean from your kitchen window. From dolphins, rays, turtles and more, you won't believe what happens next in this open aquarium right in front of your eyes.
You may also notice the many sailboats or tankers as they cruise way offshore to their northern or southern foreign destinations. You will gaze at their lights off in the distance on a star filled, moon lit evening. You may be inspired to take an evening stroll along the shore as the waves gently lap over your ankles.
Iguana Azul is an authentic ole Florida beach cottage with its simplicity. It is not a condo or an extravagant mansion. You will have your very own boardwalk to the beach. You will have your own tropically landscaped yard with bananas, coconuts, and mangos. Tropical flowers are abundant all year around for your pleasure. The local seagulls, pelicans, and lizards will dazzle you. You might happen upon an armadillo or a long white tropical bird searching for dinner.
Iguana Azul can comfortably sleep 9 members of your family and friends. The well furnished, outside back patio has a bar and a gas grill encircling a large 8 person hot tub for those relaxing evenings under the moon and stars. Sit under the authentic tiki hut built by the Seminole Indian tribe as you look out over the beach below .
You may not want to leave Iguana Azul, but if you are looking to explore, there are many interesting adventures awaiting you such as the Space Station tour on Cape Canaveral, The Mel Fisher Treasure Museum, The Barrier Island Marine Sanctuary, The Brevard Zoo, and several boat and walking tours in close proximity. You may want to rent your own boat or just take advantage of the many local fishing charters, or rent a kayak from Honest John's where you may meet Gator the pig and explore the canals for manatee. The Sebastian Surf and Sport Shop will rent surfboards, buggy boards, skim board, or stand up paddle boards while Whitey's will supply you with all you need to fish right off the beach behind your house. The Long Point shop is where you get your goodies for the evening.
All in all, your time at Iguana Azul can be as relaxing as you like or as adventuresome as you like.
We invite you to be our guests at our little slice of paradise.
