It is a lovely grand old building in great condition. My rating, unfortunately, is in reflection of the staff and cleanliness of my room. My first room's shower-over-the-bath set up obviously had not been cleaned properly, with the kind of hair that you don't want to see left in the bottom of the bath. This room's air conditioner was terribly noisy, after requesting, I was relocated to another room. Unfortunately, this room's toilet had used and not flushed prior to my arrival. The staff made you feel like you were a burden, and the manager was quite rude when I called and requested clarification around charges as only a single receipt was provided on check-out with dual charges made to my card.

Perkins room was adequate although very small. Noisy due to the trains passing. Hotel is very nice and close to everything. Breakfast was very good. Hotel staff were professional and friendly.

Central, comfortable and charming
Very pleasant. A standout is Kevin, who greeted us at the checkin desk. Such a friendly, welcoming and professional host. Charming interiors, a mix of a bygone era and modern touches. The one retraction is there was some mild noise from the trains passing by, nothing overly bothersome.

The staff in the hotel was great, very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Hotel rooms are of a great size with new furniture and decoration. We booked with a VIP membership of Expedia and got all extras with it. Would definitely recommend the hotel and stay again.

We had stayed at the Rendezvous some time ago and since then it has undergone changes mainly for the better. The problem I had was that we had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights but there was a process whereby we had to check in again after then first night. This unusual arrangement resulted in there not being a breakfast for us on the second day. I can only put this down to the booking process but it was extremely annoying to be refused breakfast on the second day because it was not part of the charge whereas it had been on the first day. We ended up having to pay for breakfast which was annoying since we understood it to be included in the rate. Otherwise the hotel was as expected

The gifted wine was not good quality. Vivino rated 3.4 which is undrinkable for me. And i dont drink white wine. 3.8 or better is a must. Beresford or Pirramimma for example. Really lovely bed. Great parking. Its a lovely hotel.

Great (but a couple of minor issues)
Beautiful old building and very elegant inside. Overall the hotel was fantastic, but the only things preventing a 5 star rating were 1) a rubbish bin in the bathroom which was full of unpleasant items when we checked in and 2) the checkout at reception where the receptionist seemed like we offended her by asking for our complimentary bottle of wine that was part of the deal. The luggage attendant however was very friendly and helpful (cant remember his name but i think it began with "O"). The breakfast was awesome and plentiful and the breakfast staff were friendly. Overall a wonderful place and would recommend.

The Rendezvous hotel is a lovely old style hotel that has been restored very well, right down to the period style light fixtures and power points with USB outlets. We would definitely stay here again. The staff were all wonderful.

Our room was dirty with blood on the doona and the door jamb. I had wiped it off the door jamb on arrival as I had wipes with me. In the morning I saw that the doona had blood on it which should not have been missed by the room staff. My husband then saw that the carpet had the same rusty red colour. We were moved to another room which was clean and although the same room category was bigger including a queen bed. Although we had booked a queen room we were put in a cramped room with a double bed. The hotel insisted it was a queen bed but it was definitely a double. Very nice staff but a shame that our first night was not so good.
