The loft was perfect during our daughter’s surgery at Stanford.
Before surgery, she and I were able to enjoy the town with its restaurants and shops, catch the CalTrain to San Fran for a day of sightseeing, and just enjoy each others company in such an amazing space. Our husbands joined us after 5 days and arrived the day before surgery. While she was hospitalized, it was a great space to sleep, eat, and get ready for hospital days. While recuperating, it was so nice to have so much space for us all to spread out or come together for a meal, and the proximity to so many restaurants kept us well fed when we didn’t feel like heating something up in the kitchen.
The proximity to Stanford was what led us to Menlo Park, but the loft is what we fell in love with. The mega high ceilings, sky lights and giant windows had the entire space filled with light, which we found amazing! The outside porches were perfect for sitting out when warm enough, (very cool when we were there). We also enjoyed the gas fire feature which each of us at various times of the day (especially early mornings) would enjoy sitting near with coffee and a book. The decor is colorful and inviting, and the two (of four) beds we used were very comfortable.
We hope to return one day and stay when so much of our time isn’t involved with medical issues. Thank you Yonten for sharing your beautiful home to harbor us during a difficult time.
