Freshly renovated, much improved
I’d stayed at this hotel ?18 months ago and it was in need of renovation… they’ve done it. Rooms, furniture, flooring, etc are all freshly done over. Service is very good as well. That said the check in line was too long when I arrived, it took over 30 minutes for me in the mid afternoon. But the other services, from the room cleaning to the concierge recommendations for hotels, etc, were all great… people were friendly… and the gym and pool and all of that were absolutely fine. In addition, this is a very cool and walkable neighborhood with a lot to offer. The public spaces are comfortable as well.

Good for the money
This hotel is very well located. Two of our tours started only a block away from it, so it was convenient. Plenty of places to eat around, and lots of shop g, very safe area and easy to get to public transportation. Breakfast was good and it has a lot of Mexican dishes. The handshake bar in the first floor is excellent. Did not had a chance to use the pool but it looked good.

We loved our stay. Staff and concierge very helpful and kind. The shower floor leaked onto room area but we dried it up daily with a towel even though the front desk was informed. Some concerns re:safety. We were there 7 nights. On two late afternoons when we returned to room our door was ajar and unlocked & on one afternoon the porch sliding door was left open and a brave neighbor could have crossed over into our room. I informed the office and they sent a locksmith up who verified that the locks worked. So, I guess it was my word against theirs. Though I loved everything else about the room I won’t be staying there again.

The location and breakfast are great! Staff was pleasant. However, some shortcomings- 1. I booked a room with a balcony (celebrating our anniversary). I was told when we checked in (night 1) it wasn’t avail so to try on day 2. Day 2 it wasn’t avail and I wasn’t refunded bc no manager was onsite. Expedia did give me key cash though. 2. When we got to our room, the door was unlocked and we had 0 towels. We only received 2 bath towels night 1, but day 2 when we asked for more towels (shower mat esp bc our shower door didn’t close, hand towels) and they added robes and slippers 3. There was discarded chewed gum in our garbage when we arrived 4. There was no VIP anything 5. Appeasement: the day 2 staff did give us free breakfast for the entire stay due to all the inconveniences. Still would love to get a refund of the diff for the room we didn’t get
