Great Milan Discovery
The Palazzo Segreti is a small hotel just off the Via Dante in central Milan. The hotel is within walking distance of most attractions in the city. It's almost midway between two Metro stations. Despite its central location the hotel was quiet although I think it could be different on a weekend night. There is a nice breakfast available and a welcoming drink and nibbles available on the first evening. Woul definitely stay here again.

We booked this last minute and didn’t really do much research. We were there one night. The room was clean, but minimalist. The TV appeared to have apps, but we were never able to figure out how to use them with an iPhone. Looked like it was only android compatible. We didn’t appear to have real access to setting the room temperature. There was a strange control panel that didn’t seem to control anything. There is no elevator, but a tiny “lift”. It worked fine. The bathroom and shower are on opposite sides of the room… very strange. It wasn’t a bad stay, but we would not stay there again.

The Palazzo Segreti is a lovely boutique hotel in a great location in between the Milan Cathedral and the Sforzesco Castle and easily walkable to both along with plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes. The hotel conveniently has an elevator/lift to help transport bags to rooms. There were a few stairs in between the lobby and the lift but there was always a staff member available to help. The hotel offered a buffet style breakfast each morning (included with your stay) with a variety of items and one cup of coffee to start your day. I am not a big breakfast person, so for me, the variety was perfect. The room was lovely, comfortable, and spacious. My only complaint was the lack of air conditioning in our room. We asked 4 times for the air conditioning to be adjusted as the thermostat was not working in our room. Being in a busy/noisy area with a restaurant across the alley from us, we were not able to have the windows open which made it difficult to sleep. Each time we inquired, the woman at the front desk told us she'd take care of it but never did and when we returned to follow up, she was extremely rude and made us feel like a bother. We were told that she didn't see what the problem was because other rooms weren't having issues with their conditioning. I do feel like this was an isolated issue though as all of the other staff members were friendly, polite, and accommodating.

This was a real gem right in the heart of Milan! Easy walks to Duomo, the Sforza castle and Teatro alla Scala, with dozens of restaurants nearby (from high-end to fast-food). Also a metro station just 3 minutes away to connect to more distant locales. The hotel itself was very comfortable, with a friendly, attentive and responsive staff. Every member was extremely pleasant and helpful. Attilio was especially attentive, as was his younger colleague whose name escapes me. All in all, a very enjoyable staty - would stay here again when in Milan!
