Overall, this was a perfectly adequate hotel for a one-night stay on our way from San Francisco to Northern California. My four-star rating simply reflects the fact that Muir Woods Lodge is a place for brief stays - nothing fancy, but also nothing terribly wrong. The beds were comfortable, everything looked clean, and all showers, faucets, and toilets worked perfectly well, which is all I really ask in a brief stay! The one thing that might be a problem for some was that the refrigerator/ freezer did clearly need to be defrosted and cleaned.

It's hard to say for sure how clean everything was, but the first time I openned the sink, the handle stayed in my hand and the coffee machine had the previous occupant pod still in. It's not that bad in and off itself, but with the rest of the motel giving a sketchy vibe, it just makes it hard to sleep well and not to guess everything.

This place is very convenient if you’re visiting Sausalito. Nice sized rooms. They have a complimentary gourmet style coffee in the office which was nice in the morning.-‘

We spent one night at Muir Woods Lodge. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and we were able to park close to our room. One thing I noticed after a day of strenuous hiking was that the room floors are laminate faux wood instead of carpeting. There is also no breakfast included. But it was a convenient location for hiking Muir Woods early in the morning. I would recommend this hotel, but wish that, for the price, some kind of breakfast was included.

The air-conditioned unit was very loud. Had to unplug the microwave to work the TV. Supper thin walls could her everything from the room next to us. Mold in the bathroom on the shower curtin and window. Only 1 light worked. Bathtub shell not glued down. The guy checking us in only said 1 word to us (name) no smile or have a nice stay. No smoke dictator.
