Historic home in downtown / walking distance to restaurants and local breweries

This Beautiful historic home is right in the heart of downtown Milton,Fl. This home was built in 1863 and is apart of Milton’s haunted ghost tour. The Gainer home is filled with mystery and suspicious claims surrounding the owner, Aubrey Gainers passing. With almost 3,000 sqft of history and beautiful furnishings, this home will accommodate any occasion. This home offers three bedrooms and three full bathrooms with a furnished front and back porch. This home also has a large balcony overlooking the town and views of the river which is perfect for sunbathing. This homes perfect location is within walking distance to local bars, restaurants, and a brewery just across the street. Milton is known for its small town charm and knows how to bring its community together. Every Friday night, they host Bands on Blackwater, which is a family event; so bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the show and array of food trucks! For all the outdoor adventurer’s, Milton has a ton to offer. Located right on the Blackwater River, you can enjoy canoeing and tubing for an all day excursion. Check out Blackwater Canoes or Bobs Canoe rentals. Carpenters park is another point of interest that offers a family friendly atmosphere with a playground, splash pads, and it has boat launch to get you out on the Blackwater River. Adventures unlimited is another exciting spot for anyone who enjoys zip lining and walking through wooded trails. But the fun doesn’t end there, because some of the best beaches the gulf coast has to offer are only a short drive away. Be sure to check out Navarre beach and Pensacola beach for some fun in the sun and the clearest water you’ve ever seen. Last but not least, for anyone interested in some American history, near Pensacola beach lies the historical Fort Pickens that was used throughout the American Civil war. Very cool place to explore! We hope to host you soon and please feel free to reach out to us for any questions you may have! The upstairs balcony is off limits due to upcoming repairs.

Nice place to stay in Milton, FL
We were very surprised at how spacious this home is. It’s within walking distance of good food and fun places to see. We found The Butterfly museum and conservancy and a train museum very nearby. We would have liked to have had access to a binder in the home that lists the house rules/expectation of guests (for example: if trash needs to be put in the receptacle and placed at the curb. Where to put your used linens…) There was no clear indication of where to locate the WiFi password but we were able to ask the host on the website. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this property to others.

A great find in Milton
This is a great house, a renovated historic home with WAY more space inside than it looks from the outside. There is front parlor, a front living room with a gas fireplace that also goes to the formal dining room, two downstairs bedrooms, one with a full bath, a spacious kitchen with eating area, another full bath, and another living room area, and huge space with laundry facilities, a cute screened-in porch and a huge fenced-in backyard. The upstairs has been converted into a master suite with a king bed, living area and full bathroom with an awesome garden tub and shower. The upstairs master also opens onto a large second-story deck with fun string lights for a festive nighttime atmosphere. If that's not enough, you can walk down the street to the Blackwater Bistro that is cute, quiet and has a really good, varied menu, and the brewery restaurant next door (which I think is only open in the evenings). Easy to get to NAS Whiting Field if you are in town for a winging. Easy to get pretty much anywhere and not far from Pensacola and Pensacola Beach. Kristin was very responsive to any requests we had. We definitely stay here again if we come back.

Visit with son
We really enjoyed our stay there. The house was very nice and comfortable. Our son is stationed at Whiting as a marine pilot in training. It was a short drive to his house and to the base. There were several places to eat in close proximity. We would choose this place again if we get the chance to visit him there.

Great Spot!
We were there with our immediate family to see our son receive his wings from the Navy. Absolutely ideal for this purpose. It is conveniently located for base access. We walked to dinner at Blackwater Bistro (highly recommend) and a short jaunt to the bakery for treats. We walked along the river and into town. While our son is off to his next duty station, we would absolutely stay here again.

Charming home with lots of character
I loved the location and beautiful upgrades of this home! It was relaxing having coffee on the porch. The place is fully stocked with all of the necessities. Enjoyed the comforts of this home, especially the large bathtub upstairs! Hoping to come back again soon!
