Cwtch Bryn | Off-grid Escape | Wilder Nature
A beautiful and sustainably built ‘tiny home’, located in a secluded location within our 80 acre rewilding project.
The central feature is the king-sized bed, where you can sleep in beautifully soft linen sheets, immersed in the sounds of wilder nature. Keeping craft and localism in mind, the bespoke log burners, hand thrown crockery and beautifully woven soft furnishings all have a story to tell.
If you can drag yourself away from the cabin, you’ll be welcomed at the Grange Hub. Recently constructed, this beautiful space is at the centre of the rewilding project and is filled with comfortable corners to read a book, play a board game or just take in the view. You can also refresh with a rainfall shower, refuel using our kitchen, or relax with our honesty bar and bakery.
What do I need to know about the cabins?
Each cabin is designed for two people, with a king sized ottoman bed, cosy seating area and copper wash basin.
There is a compost loo directly adjacent to the cabin, accessible via our bespoke red cedar decking. Hot showers are also available at the Grange Hub.
Lighting and energy sufficient to charge a phone is provided through a solar system, charging for laptops is available at the Grange Hub.
You have everything you need to cook up culinary delights, whether on the log burner or the compact gas stove. A robust cool box keeps everything at the perfect temperature (with kitchen and freezer space available at the Grange Hub).
There is 4G at both cabin locations, with an open WI-FI connection at the Grange Hub.
What do I need to know about the location?
The project is about 1.5miles up a lane from the B road. Although the road is council owned, unfortunately it’s in quite a poor state. Please take it slow and low-slung vehicles not recommended!
The cabins are about a 10 minute walk from the Grange Hub. We are happy to take your luggage on our electric all terrain vehicle if you'd prefer not to walk with your bags, but thereafter please make the most of staying in wilder nature and enjoy the stroll!
We are a rewilding site, and although we have mowed paths to the cabins, the pigs like to dig them up and there may be cattle on them. Please come prepared for the wilderness and an off-grid experience, think suitable footwear (wellies/walking boots) and outdoor clothing.
Due to our free-roaming pigs and cattle, we regret to say there is a no dog policy at the Grange Project.
We are fortunate to be adjacent to an ancient woodland, there are many paths to explore or we can show you a decent 90 minute loop from the project. If you fancy a trip to our local pub, it’s a 25 minute stroll through the woods.
What do I need to know about booking?
Our cabin season runs from April-October each year, but we will not be opening until July 2025 to complete the construction of the Grange Hub.
There are fixed changeover days on Fridays and Mondays, to allow us to run the business sustainably.
Cost per night varies between £120-£150. There is a reduced rate for staying during the week and a significant discount if you want to stay the Sunday night after a weekend visit.
Due to our free-roaming pigs and cattle, we regret to say there is a no dog policy at the Grange Project.

What is there to do in the local area?
You’ll find the local area filled with the best in outdoor activities, whether mountain biking, wild swimming, kayaking or hiking, the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Black Mountains and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) are all within 30 minutes and have so much to offer.
If that’s not enough to keep you busy, we are also surrounded by culture and heritage, fantastic food options and the best in market town festivities. We’re 15 minutes from Monmouth and 20 minutes from Abergavenny, with the lovely city of Hereford only 40 minutes away.
