Hit or miss but property mostly decent
It was ok, linen was fresh & clean which was appreciated & the room smelt clean with ac off. On the other hand, my guests’ room reportedly smelt, linen smelt & food left at the elevator remained there for days. Service was a hit or miss. Some servers were excellent while some were woefully lacking. The property is fairly well kept but some areas seem abandoned like the mini golf & tennis courts as well as the pool (game) & table tennis area. The hobbie cats are also out of commission so water sport is limited. We also didn’t get any hats for New Year’s Eve as apparently they didn’t have enough. The welcome drink is horrible cheap drink or flavored water which also took a while to be brought. While the gala dinner was decent, the other night had almost nothing to choose from where meat selection is concerned, though the specialty restaurants were ok. Buffet fruits had sour flies anll over them in one chill area & condiments stand was messy with tongs falling into the water for self serve so everyone’s hand was in it to retrieve. Overall a hit or miss.

I recently stayed in Room 1240 and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. While the room itself was very clean, there were several major issues. The smoke alarm was not functioning and was actually falling off the wall. The entrance to the room appeared neglected, with parts of it falling apart. The windows outside our unit were broken and gave the impression of being abandoned. Inside, the bathroom ceiling was deteriorating, with visible damage and water stains. We requested a room change due to these concerns, but our request was denied. To make matters worse, it seems the entire unit had mold, as we’ve all developed bad coughs and congestion since our stay. This situation needs immediate attention for the safety and comfort of future guests.

Over all this property is ok. The food however was extremely substandard. A couple of nights we each found something that was good but overall across the board -breakfast, lunch and dinner the food was not good. The snack huts on the beach were decent. We enjoyed the jerk chicken and pork, grilled cheese, fries and burgers (as well as the vegan) burger.

I had an ocean front suite,which was very huge and spacious .The bathroom was amazing newly renovated, very modern and palatial . Some members of staff needs retraining, their mannerism and attitude is not befitting for a service industry but i must commend my house keeper Sharie, Melody and the female chef from the buffet dining their demeanor and helpfulness was so much above the rest. Entertainment was good.

I have been coming to this property on a mostly annual basis for about 15 years. The new changes being implemented by the Catalonia company didn’t really amount to improvements at all. The à la carte restaurants have a slightly higher food, quality, but will no longer let you choose extra options, and all of them were limited to a three course meal, even though they used to be four course meals and the menu still contains all four courses. If you have a big appetite, you will definitely be eating twice Unlike before the ownership change After witnessing people from corporate on the property, clearly being less polite to the staff than the people who have been working here usually are was very obvious and noticeable. The new uniforms that I saw being handed to several of theemployees were Safari uniforms. That seemed a little bigoted being that there aren’t really Safari in Jamaica… I normally wouldn’t think twice about this, but when I combine this with the behavior and attitude of Spanish corporate, Then there was the photographer from corporate the corporation didn’t choose to go the cheap route, and hire Jamaican photographers. They flew in a man and a woman from overseas to do the job. This is not something. There is no place to buy souvenirs any longer. The lottery for locals has been ended, and the men at the West End of the resort remained under threat of arrest if they got too close. Painting isn’t remodeling no remodeling has happened. &my room upgrade was a lie

An unexpected guest
Previous guest informed me that this place was a Holiday Inn prior to being bought and the transition hasn't been good. I can see what they mean but for the price and location to the airport, it's worth the money. The ground are kept clean all of the time. The staff was courteous and helpful. I definitely took advantage of the food buffet and all inclusive drinks. There were activities available but I'm not sure if they're included or not as I didn't partake. I would've recommended this place to the public until the following issue. During one of my nights, I went out and stayed out late. I decided to sleep in so I put the DND sign on my door and flipped the latch. Sometime after breakfast (i slept through breakfast) a loud bang shook me out of my sleep. The sound was of someone opening my door, with a key, and the door hitting the latch. I opened the door and a gentleman with a clipboard stood there saying this room was marked as vacant and was going to be painted. I had already been there two days so how would you not know that the room is no longer vacant? Did you not see the sign? Didn't think maybe to update the list or knock? When I told management, all he did was say sorry and not to worry, it won't happen again. They complete minimized the level of fear I had as a person traveling alone.
