Arrived and the assigned room was not cleaned at 9pm. Cleaning staff had done an excellent job however it was nearly an hour until I could get into the room. No alternatives were offered not was any other discounts for the inconvenience.

We have stayed at Ruby Foo's in the past but it seems to have degenerated just a bit. The upgraded room (for a nominal fee) provided an improvement over the base level room and it was fairly clean. Water pressure is excellent and the in-room fridge is a full size bar fridge. There was no dresser in the room. The biggest drawback was the room safe. It was not bolted to the furniture and therefore could be carried out by a thief. Why have a "room safe" at all if it's portable?!?! The now closed restaurants were reasonably nice in their day but they have been closed for a while now for "renovations". If you are interested in eating breakfast at the hotel, you need to order in advance. No worries though as McDonalds and Tim Hortons are a short walk away across Decarie as is a large dine-in breakfast/brunch restaurant (Allo mon Coco). Also, there was no evidence of cleaning staff caring for the property over the weekend. Sunday morning we were greeted with a few french fries and other debris on the floor in the elevator for our tower (presumably from Saturday night). The fries and other debris remained there until we checked out on Monday morning. Hotel KPIs (Ratings) for a good stay: Bed comfort - excellent = 5/5 (as good as it gets) Noise - very good = 4/5 Location - excellent = 5/5 Amenities - poor = 1/5 Property Cleanliness - below average = 2/5 Staff friendliness - excellent = 5/5

Check-in staff member was very friendly and I was able to speak English with him. He explained the security deposit charge and promotes the available breakfast. Variety of shopping and restaurants nearby. One suggestion - room 160 needs black out curtains not just a shear type of curtain. Thanks.

While the property was clean and has some good features like no other hotels, the service was terrible. First attempt to check in was before 2 pm, room was not ready. Second attempt to check in was at 3:30- room was not ready. While we were in lobby waiting we saw lots of people get in and checkin no problem. But our room was not ready yet. It was already 2 h past check in time and stubborn staff decided that the only room for us is the one in reservation. After checking with manager staff decided to check us in other room. I think this is obvious to check in guest in different room( similar layout, same price) just different room number and don’t keep waiting for hours.
