The L is central to everything in Old Montreal and is an art exhibit. It’s old but employees are very helpful and friendly. Problems are there aren’t enough personnel and it is filthy. The beds are comfortable, but under the clean pillowcases there are covers with blood and drool stains, inside those the pillows are brown with age and dirt. Luckily it was noticed on the morning we were leaving. Breakfast was typical help yourself fare. The first morning went smoothly. The second morning was a mess. For some reason it was very crowded and the poor young woman couldn’t keep up with seating, cleaning and restocking. No eggs, no coffee, no croissants! She asked the two men talking on the side for assistance but they continued talking without assisting. She did it all with grace and a smile and eventually got things in order. Shortage of personnel was also present in front. The valet was the bell hop was the bartender was the repairman, etc. again he did his job with grace and a smile but could have used an assistant. Overall it was an experience we will not try again.

L'Hotel is charming and located in a terrific area. The staff is very helpful and eager to assist you in your travels. The decor of the hotel is amazing. A very special recognition and appreciation to the following excellent staff members: ZOE and ROBERTO. They made our stay especially great!

This is a wonderful little boutique hotel in a building that was once a bank. You should look up its history. It has unique art on the walls and in the lobby. It is very quiet. We could walk to Notre Dame Basilica in 5 minutes, There are many restaurants within walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was a pastry, orange juice, and coffee or tea. If I were to visit Montreal again, I would definitely stay here.

Unique property in an excellent location to explore Montreal, especially Old Montreal! Walkable to many locations including subway and via rail station. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable for a group of 4 ladies to share for a girls weekend! The morning croissants and cappuccinos were an added bonus! Would definitely stay here again when visiting.

The hotel is located two blocks from Notre Dame it is so convenient to Old Montreal. We were in Montreal for the Men’s Professional Tennis Tournament. We were two blocks to the Metro which took us everywhere so easy to navigate.

We had a lovely time at Lhôtel Montréal. It was beautiful. It was close to everything and we easily walked everywhere. The staff was friendly. One evening, we had a glass of wine in the beautiful lobby area and were able to take in some of the ambience of the hotel. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Le pain au chocolat était délicieux! Merci!

I don’t often write reviews, but there were a few pointedly negative reviews that gave us pause when booking this hotel. At the time choices were limited last minute and we went for it and we are so glad we did, because it was a fantastic hotel and experience in so many ways. The location can’t be beat. You can walk to anything in Old Montréal and the Port. You’re also 2 blocks from the metro to head back towards centre ville or Mont Royale. The front desk staff were all lovely, and valet parking was reasonable and a very easy way to handle a car in the city. The hotel itself was clean, classy and the collection of art work everywhere was so fun. Our room was huge, with large windows and great lighting. The bathroom was huge and newly renovated, the king bed was comfortable and the pull out couch was comfortable for my adult sized daughter. There was some street noise, which is the trade off for the location, and I slept great with ear plugs in. The breakfast was croissants, hard boiled eggs, juice and coffee drinks. It was a great start to the day right in the hotel, at no additional cost. We have stayed many places in Montréal and this ranks up there for location, room size and style and free breakfast.

Terrific room at centrally located boutique hotel. Walkable to many restaurants. Was clean & quiet. Staff very helpful. Daily (included) breakfast was limited but good quality: just baked excellent croissants & pain au chocolat, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt cappuccino (breakfast is understaffed, making service bumpy). We’ll stay there again!
