Basic
Very basic property but worked nice for our large group with multiple families. The house could use some cleaning/updating. The pool part was nice but needs a good cleaning and updated heaters to run. Once out if the pool it was very cold and when running the little heaters out there to attempt to warm it up we kept tripping the breakers. The theater room was a hit but needs cleaned and updated. Lots of broked chairs. Kids loved the property and pool and overall we had a great trip!

Great experience
Lots of space, pool was great. The water was really warm, so even little kids were able to enjoy for a while before getting cold. Would recommend bringing water shoes or flip flops because the floor around the pool gets quite cold. We plan on making this an annual trip (celebrating my mom's & brother's birthdays), and looking to book with some friends and their kids in the future as well.

Family get together
The unit is really not a "Mansion", but a large home. When considering renting this unit understand it is not the "luxury" a "Mansion" would imply. The furnishings are very dated and not coordinated in each room, the mattress are long overdue for replacement, all the theater room seats do not recline or work, some of the TV's do not work, some lights not working or with burned out bulbs, shower head in Master could not be shut off completely allowing a dripping sound all night long, and for a remote location the security was absent. Towel for the bathrooms were not hung in each bathroom but were in a cabinet in the lower level. All of the towels were mis-matched and the quality of rummage sale. The lock on the front door did not provide any additional security in the night time (no interior locking bolt). One day while we were all out of the home, someone entered the home (someone who knew the code on the front door deadbolt) turned on all the lights and turned down the thermostat. Even If this was the owner, no note was left of who or why they were in the home. This spoked out the family.

Family Vacation
With a little preparation, the place was great for our family vacation and we very much enjoyed the pool. I did my research and brought things like blankets and pillows, extra TP, paper towel, dishwasher pods, wash clothes, and ice. We came here knowing what to expect so we were not disappointed. The only thing that did surprise me was that the garage was not accessible to park in. Yes, a few things could use repairs, better cleaning or upgrades, like a couple theater recliners and the beds. (1 king, 1 queens and 2 twins upstairs and 2 queens downstairs) If you're a light sleeper, consider bringing earplugs. Due to the open floor plan, noise carriers a bit. But overall, it's pretty nice. Lots of effort went towards 80% of the house for guests.

Family Getaway
The house was spacious, plenty of room for our large group! It was a great, budget-friendly option for our families to meet up for a holiday getaway. I would still prefer this to a hotel any day, the private indoor pool is what enticed us to this particular location. The listing definitely merits an update. The “4th bathroom” in the pool house did not have running water, so it’s basically a changing room. Aside from the pool, all other spaces in the pool house aren’t usable (grill, kitchenette, fireplace, etc. We were perfectly content swimming, just have to overlook all the “do not use” signs. The beds were mediocre. A few of the recliners in the movie theater room were not in working order, but the kids were still excited to watch movies! We would consider booking again because we know what to expect given the price range.

Great for our family gathering
The indoor heated pool was a huge draw for our family gathering. The kitchen and dining areas met our cooking and dining needs. Some areas of the house felt a bit rundown or neglected, but overall it was clean. While the online listing states that it sleeps 18, there are actually only beds for 10. However, there was tons of floorspace and we simply brought air mattresses along for the kids and it worked great! Also, lots of couches throughout the house which could have been used for sleeping as well.

Our work crew was completing a project in the Greater Peoria area and needed lodging for the week. We stayed in this home on a prior project and was happy to find it available for our work dates. Enough room and comfortable for every member of the crew to relax after work.

Lots of space with a pool
The house was very spacious, enough to accommodate 4 families with kids. Pool was great and kids really enjoyed it. The temperature of the water was nice and warm and the heaters in the pool area kept everybody warm and comfortable. The media room in the basement was a big hit with the kids. Location was beautiful, very peaceful and country. A few suggestions for the owner for future guests is to provide extra sheets and blankets, more coffee/tea mugs, no tea spoons, only table spoons. Besides those few minor details everything else was great. We would definitely come back in the future.

Property has a lot of potential
This property has a lot of potential. Main rooms are very spacious. Appliances in the kitchen are upgraded and working. The bathrooms and bedrooms need some love. Beds all need replaced. Things are clean but not deep cleaned. Black mold is growing in the basement bathroom and bedrooms. Shower curtains are stained orange. We had to wash some of the bedding. Soap dispensers were all almost empty. One toilet wasn’t working and faucet handle broken. I texted the host on Friday morning of the stay and got a reply after checkout on Sunday. Bathrooms don’t all have trash cans or trash bags. The kitchen is missing basic items, however they may have been poached in the past (No spoons, cutting boards, measuring cups are examples of things we assumed would be in the kitchen) Lots of broken or aged things through the property.

Needs some TLC
Overall stay was very pleasant. Pool was awesome and it was very easy to access. It was a perfect size for meals and gathering Feel that "sleeps 18" statement is misleading. There were beds for 10 people only and the 3 additional people we had were forced to make do on a standard (no pull out) sofa and recliner. There are several amenities that are not functional-no grill in pool room, gas grill outside didn't close fully. Bathroom in pool house didn't flush, recliners in theater room didn't work, ice makers in refrigerators not functional, TV in 2 bedrooms would not connect to internet, stools for table in kitchen all had broken legs. Several broken tiles in patio and deck also. Probably time for some maintenance on this property, but it was great for our needs and very clean

Family Gathering
Our family was able to stay on this property together with enough open spaces to give opportunities for both alone time and together time. The pool was a particularly nice addition and was well used by all. There were two things that were amiss. The internet/wifi never got figured out while we were there. This was not a particular problem for me as it limited the amount of screen time and increased the amount of family time. The second was a curious lack of spoons. There were no spoons to be found anywhere. Forks, Check. Butter knives, Check. Spoons, MIA

A nice place for family vacation
This place is nice to be with the family, the children had a lot of fun in the pool, the problem is the flies to be able to be outside enjoying a barbecue, there are many and they are uncontrollable.

Positives - indoor pool, lots of space, price, movie room is very nice. Areas to improve - Kitchen/household supplies - no flatware spoons, 1 garbage bag supplied, very little dish soap, 1 bowl for mixing, no plastic wrap/foil, only 2 regular size coffee cups. - Ice makers in both refrigerators not working - Beds need new pillows - these are pretty flat. Beds are okay. Not all TV's in bedrooms work. - Pictures on the VRBO site need to be updated - no swing or trampoline in yard. Listing says pet friendly but does not explain there is a cost. - Outside gas grill needs to be bigger for the larger groups this house can hold. - Some vents need cleaning or replacement. - Dishwasher was not run after the previous guests. Overall - the price makes this a good value and the negatives are not deal breakers, more inconveniences and extra stuff to buy at the grocery store. Appliances and TVs are higher end. If they invested a little more and paid a little more attention to the day-to-day things a vacationer might want this could be an outstanding rental.

Morton Trip
We came to Morton on a family trip. When we arrived at check in the cleaners never showed. The owners came and cleaned for us while we waited in the pool room. The house has great bones but it’s in need of a ton of maintenance. It suited our needs . There were some things that didn’t work but the kids enjoyed the pool and there was enough room for all of us. Overall it was a decent trip, the whole place just needs a little TLC.

Dissappintment
Thenproperty is beautiful and spacious howver there were many inconsistentcies for a family family The basics like toilet paper was not adequately provided. One roll in the whole house. Towels were still in washing machine none in bathroomsnor cabinets and did not match the instructions prpvided in the rule book. The peoperty advertises to sleep 18, only9 pillows could be found, no extra sheets or comforters were located in the house. Dust bunnies and previous renters clothing was found u nder two beds, plus bugs running around on the floors inndaylight. The main door and garage doorsbwere not closed and ajar upon arrival. There was no communication with property owner with my seven attempts, including day of.check in i was honestly concerned it might be a scam. The rules and restrictions , only 4 cars on property at one time for example, does not support this advertised 'event venue'. We would not recommend however knowing now what to e pect we might stay again and be prepared to clean, bringnour own linens, and ample.toilet paper and shower and hand soaps.

Convenient location, spacious living area for a happy gathering with good lighting, well equipped kitchen and pool are the main attractions. Everything went on well for our after wedding party. Oven and two refrigerators helped us to get all food prepared without any problem. Thank you!

Perfect for Family Reunion
We took my mom to Illinois for a family reunion. This property was PERFECT for that. It's in the middle of some of the most beautiful scenery. Even my uncle, who lives in Illinois, stated he was amazed by the area. There were a few quirks with the home, but we were all okay with that because of its location & the wonderful time we all had.

Very cool place, but Needs some TLC
This house has great potential. But it needs a deep cleaning in every room and some double checking on the house prior to the next wave of guests. I ended up washing all of the towels since the bathrooms still had used hanging towels left from the previous guests. Never did the the oven to work, but we improvised. We did not use the theatre room, but everything was unplugged and garbage was left in there from prior guests. This is still a beautuful place and we enjoyed ourselves completely. Lots of space for our needs.

Serious Concerns
During my stay, I encountered a multitude of significant issues that marred the quality and safety of the accommodation. Firstly, the toilets in the property were consistently dysfunctional, causing considerable inconvenience and discomfort throughout my stay. Additionally, the sinks failed to drain properly, resulting in stagnant water and unhygienic conditions within the property. Moreover, the oven was inoperable, rendering our meal preparation plans futile and forcing us to seek alternative dining options. This lack of functionality severely hindered our ability to enjoy our stay and disrupted our plans significantly. Furthermore, upon inspection, I was alarmed to identify several fire hazards within the property, posing a significant risk to the safety of myself and my companions. The presence of such hazards is unacceptable and reflects a blatant disregard for the well-being of your guests. To compound matters, multiple pieces of furniture within the property were broken or in a state of disrepair, detracting further from the overall comfort and usability of the accommodation. The lack of basic amenities and the overall neglect of the property significantly impacted the enjoyment of my stay.

Many Missing/Broken Amenities and Ants!
This is the first time I've ever written a negative review for anything, but there were too many issues to overlook. We stayed three nights, and I would've given the first 2 nights 1 star and the last night 3 stars. We booked this for the heated indoor pool, as I would expect most people do. When we checked in the owner was attempting to fix the pool heater but was unable to do so. The water was freezing and the building is only heated by space heaters, so we didn't even get to enjoy the pool the first 2 days. Luckily they came and replaced the heater in the late afternoon of the second day, but it wasn't warm until the morning of day 3. So we did get to have one day of fun in the pool after that. The oven in the house was also broken, along with the indoor grill by the pool, and outdoor gas grill. We brought a bunch of food we had planned on cooking, but were forced to order food the first night with no way of cooking it. The next morning the owner brought over an air fryer that we could at least use to cook some of our food. Also, the TVs that are pictured by the pool, which were a selling point for us, are no longer there. Those advertised pictures are very misleading. Also, most of the remotes didn't have batteries. The last issue was the cleanliness of the home and the ant problem. The floors had crumbs on them when we arrived which probably causes the ant problem. Many of the sheets had stains, and there were no extra blankets or pillows. We would NOT stay here again.
