No frills hotel close to main station

I had a single room for two night which cost around EUR 100 in all with no breakfast. Walking distance to Munich main train station with all the bus and tram connections which is fantastic for getting around. The hop on hop off sightseeing bus also stops nearby. The room was simple, a bed, desk, old analogue tv with German channels and a fuzzy picture. One pillow and a simple duvet with a fitted sheet make up the bed. The room was fine as it was cheap BUT what gives this a low rating was the shower was like warm on both days I used it, the shower head was covered in limescale, the socket on the wall beside the bed didn’t work so I couldn’t charge my phone and have it close by in bed at the same time, the room light didn’t work, the towels were clean but worn, and there was a stale smell from the toilet when flushing. I think this hotel is getting old now and needs a refurb. I won’t be staying there again because I’m traumatised after the cold showers. I did complain when I checked out and was offered breakfast for free which was a token but the breakfast choice is minimal and I just wanted to leave.

Value for money hotel

The hotel was very conveniently placed in terms of going other places in Munich due to closeness of the stations. The gripes we had with the hotel was that it didnt include a kettle in the room, we had to go down to the restaurant part and get the hot water from a coffee machine. The WIFI in the room was adequate although it did go down quite often. 9 euros for breakfast was kind of steep, it didnt exactly have a lot of choice in terms of what to have for the breakfast buffet.

hello - the hotel was clean and functional. the breakfast was basic and a little on the top side for a Euro 9 meal. over all, i'd book a room again on my next trip to munich. cheers alan

Short Break

It was ideal for us (4 ladies) for the Christmas Market, the staff put us all in one room as requested, the beds were reall comfy - the staff greeting us were very friendly (although the night porter not so). I would go back though!!

Convenient, clean, cheap & colourful

The Creatif Elephant is colourful both outside and in, which adds a little character to a budget hotel. Despite being literally only a couple of minutes walk from the station it is quiet for a city centre hotel. The rooms are small, but neat and clean. Breakfast was a buffet, with cold meats, cheeses and jams, and hot sausages and scrambled eggs. Reception is staffed 24 hours and all those on duty while we were there spoke good English. Apart from breakfast there is no dining room or bar, but you are so close to the station and city that it didn't matter. The rooms don't have kettles but reception can supply hot water if you want to make your own tea or coffee. We were told it's possible to stay in Munich for less, but you are likely to be much further from the centre.

sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit am Empfang die Zimmer sind lärmig, auf eine stark befahrene Strasse hin, schlecht schliessbare Fenster, im Badezimmer konnte man sich kaum drehen

Nice hotel close to the main railway station.

This cosy little place has all the essential things all right: personal, rooms, bathroom, breakfast buffet. Not luxury, but enough for me.
