Not a graceful hotel
I was planning to visit Oktoberfest, but about 10 days before the trip, my father was admitted to the ICU. I contacted the hotel to request a cancellation, but they denied it as the request was made past the cancellation deadline. Unable to attend, I had to change the guest name for the stay. However, two days before the check-in date, the hotel sent a message demanding immediate payment, stating that if payment wasn't made, they would cancel the reservation. At that point, we had no choice but to pay, as the airfare had already been purchased. There are two issues with how this was handled. First, when I originally booked the hotel, the agreement was that payment would be made on-site. Second, it seems unfair that while the guest is unable to cancel past a certain deadline, the hotel can still cancel at any time. The way the hotel responded to this situation was far from graceful.

It has been mentioned numerous times in comments that this hotel is in a great location and it’s absolutely true. There is so much to do starting as you walk out the door. Amazingly close to shopping, trains, etc. The Platzl is very clean and comfortable with a warm ambiance. The breakfast was second to none and well worth the upcharge. Also, everyone at the front desk was kind and helpful. Adrian and Stephanie were especially friendly and patient with our numerous inquiries. We highly recommend this hotel and hope to return one day.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Platzl. It is in a great location for many sites and restaurants. They let us use a spa area to make a quick change when we arrived before check in. Staff was excellent. Would highly recommend.

We were there over Oktoberfest and our room was directly above the Hofbrau. Needless to say it was noisy. Other than that, it was perfect. GREAT location … near everything. Easy walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. Clean property, attentive staff and king beds (a treat in Europe).

We stayed in Platzl Hotel for 3 nights on a family vacation. Location was excellent, out the door and you're walking distance to all the attractions. Breakfast was delicious, parking righ underneath the hotel, sayna, gym our kids loved. It was nothing bad i can say only that at night with the open windows you can hear the street noise a bit but hey you're right in the middle of the city its part of the experience. We had a great time and loved the stay! We would come back again and recommend this hotel for sure.

This Hotel was very convenient to MarianPlatz old town and public transportation including the subway/train to the airport. There was a lot to see near the hotel. The desk staff were very helpful with any questions we had. The Sauna was lovely and we used it daily after walking in the cool weather. The courtyard view room was nice and quiet. The bed was comfortable, but they offer adjustments for firmness and pillow choices. I cannot comment on their Breakfast as we opted to dine at various local cafes instead. They have a nice bar with pastries in the lobby.

The hotel facilities and location were terrific. Because you are in the heart of Munich, it can be a little noisy even on the 4th floor.
