Nestled in a quiet cove on Lake Hiwassee, this peaceful lakefront cabin boasts of the most tranquil, beautiful sunset views on the lake. Enjoy fishing, morning paddle board rides or a refreshing dip in the clear water of one of North Carolina’s most beautiful lakes. This serene retreat provides a private dock with 2 paddle boards, 2 kayaks/paddle boards and optional pontoon boat rental. ( boat not always available, please check)
The space
Nestled in a quiet cove on Lake Hiwassee, this peaceful lakefront cabin boasts of the most tranquil, beautiful sunset views on the lake. Enjoy fishing, morning paddle board rides or a refreshing dip in the clear water of one of North Carolina’s most beautiful lakes. This serene retreat provides a private dock with 2 paddle boards, 2 kayaks/paddle boards and optional pontoon boat rental.

Unfortunately, this house is not accessible by wheelchair. There are steps from the parking pad to access the house which may be difficult for anyone experiencing mobility challenges. Accessing the lake from the house also requires navigating multiple sets of stairs.

The pontoon boat is available for rent for experienced boaters; however, newer, larger boats are available across the cove for rent at Mountain View Marina. (Check availability with Marina) Boat rental at the cabin is a minimum of 8-hour rental for $250/day plus gas. 14 day notice required. Contact Host through Airbnb for instructions on how to book. Other things to note
This 1960's cabin is a great getaway for those looking to unplug and dive into simplicity. Each season gives guests a unique experience.

Summer (June-August): Summertime provides the complete lake experience with Lake Hiwassee at higher levels. With paddle boards, kayaks and water floats, guests can lounge on the dock and enjoy the lake to its fullest. Boat rental is available or bring your own boat/jet ski to enjoy the beautiful lake and mountains.

Fall (September- November): Fall is a time to experience the cooler weather, fall foliage, and beautiful Mountains that surround Lake Hiwasse. During this time, you can expect the Lake water to be low with an extended walk to the dock. Fishing, kayaking and paddling boarding are popular outdoor activities.

Winter (December-March): Winter with the colder weather provides guest time to wrap up in a warm blanket and enjoy the beautiful views from the cabin and porch. Often touched with a flurry of snow, the cabin's coziness gives guest a quiet getaway. The lake water level is at its' lowest and guests can expect a rocky lake shore to be seen. The dock is still accessible for those that want to fish or enjoy the brisk cold weather on the water.

Spring (April-May): Spring is a time of renewal with the foliage coming alive with color. Lake levels begin rising and you can see the activity of the lake beginning to buzz. Enjoy the brisk water temperatures as you enjoy fishing, paddle boarding and kayaking.

Sunset Cove Lakefront Cabin offers its guests barbecue grills. WiFi is free in public spaces.
