I enjoyed having a balcony and the view of the ocean and sunrise, and everyone coming and going were friendly—enough parking spaces. I appreciated receiving a “welcome text” after receiving my room key, that gave me a connection to the hotel for any questions I may have. I appreciated knowing that they cared enough to offer their assistance while I was on their property.

It's oceanfront. Coming from Chicago that is super perk in itself. They were sweet to my pup. $25 to bring your pup to the ocean is a bargain

The hotel was extremely rundown, only 1 elevator was working and we experienced seeing a few bugs (cockroaches in our bathroom). We reported to the front desk but they didn’t seem to care. Overall would no go back or recommend

We loved the ocean view that we had, how quiet and peaceful it was. Plenty of parking and how nice the staff was. We would definitely stay here again if we ever came back to the outer banks. The staff was very helpful the room was initially booked to have a pet but we didn’t have a pet, the staff was helpful at getting us a room that was not on that floor and still had our ocean view!

This is a prime beachfront location at Whalebone Junction. We enjoyed our stay and recommend the hotel. The staff is actively friendly and helpful, sending daily texts asking how they could make our stay more enjoyable. Beach access was easy from the expansive deck, and we lounged there after walks on the beach. Our oceanfront room was clean and well-maintained, and we had a glorious view of sunrise over the ocean and fell asleep to the soothing sounds of waves breaking.

Let me 1st say that the staff was as friendly as can be and breath life into the stereotype of southern hospitality!!!!! A1 grade A staffing! The complimentary lemon water at the front desk is delicious I have never had better!!! Secondly you will not get a better view of the beach! Sunrises are epic at this location! Thirdly the free breakfast was pretty good! Hot bacon and sausage, Belgian waffle maker, yogurt, toast options and fruit! Now for the bad! This building is old and old buildings need repair and updating. Only one elevator was working. There were bugs in our room! From the moment we walked in there was an infestation of flys in the room. I asked for fly paper at the front desk and I was offered a fly swatter. I went to the store and bought fly spray. I killed atleast 20 flys in the room. There was still atleast 1 still flying around the room when we checked out 2 days later. Saw one roach the 1st night but no more after. The bathroom was a bit dingy and the shower curtain pole was not installed correctly so the curtain couldn't stay closed it would sag to the middle of the pole on both sides when trying to shower. So I would say that if you just want a relatively inexpensive place to stay in Nagshead with friendly staff, a good free breakfast, and an awesome view get a waterfront room here and dont expect more than that. If you are looking for a 4 to 5 star lodging experience stay elsewhere!

We enjoyed our two night stay. The location is excellent. Even our standard room had a view of the ocean. There was an issue with our tub drain that was fixed immediately. Breakfast was good. It’s definitely a hotel that hasn’t been updated in a while, so if you are looking for luxury and perfection, it’s not for you, but we found it to be exactly what we wanted. The elevator is the only complaint I have! It’s very slow and only one of two was working.
