Magnolia Mountain Getaway

This rustic, bohemian style mountain home, with amazing views of Boulder and Boulder Canyon, is just ten minutes from bustling Pearl Street and downtown Boulder, but feels a million miles away.

The space:
The cabin is located on 10 acres of pristine private property in the Roosevelt National Forest. With the mountain air blowing through the pines, you'll forget you're only 10 minutes from the city.
An engineer rents the attached walkout basement with a completely separate exterior entrance and no interior access. Extremely quiet and usually only around 3-4 days/week.

Guest access:
There are 2 additional houses on the property and guests are welcome to access every inch of the 10 acres. In addition to the 2 acres of developed land, there are 8 acres of trails surrounding the property, several of which switchback down to Boulder Creek. Guests are encouraged to hike and adventure out directly from the property.

Other things to note
Directions from downtown Boulder:

- Head WEST on Canyon Blvd/CO 119
- LEFT onto Magnolia Dr (also known as Magnolia Rd)
- Our place is just 3/4 of a mile up Magnolia Dr.

You will be staying in the cabin on the right side of the driveway. Parking is just past the first house on the left side of the driveway, next to the canopy carport. You can enter the cabin from either door on the upper level.

The main source of heat is a thermostat-controlled forced air unit. Area heaters are stored in the closets if additional heat is needed. There's also a wood burning fireplace, so we suggest bringing some wood bundles if you want to keep it extra cozy.

During winter, a vehicle with AWD or 4x4 is recommended. If you don't have that, please make sure you have snow chains for your tires.

Why only 5 stars...?

Our cabin on the mountain was Perfect! WE wanted a mountain experience & we got it. Super clean, Great views, everything you needed in the house.The drive up is a bit of a challange, the 1st time. Its hairy, coming from the flatlands...Boulder is Boulder. Nederland is great to visit too! Great pizza place there.If in the Boulder area, This is the #1 place to stay!

Perfect Stay

The purpose of our trip was to get away, relax and enjoy nature. This house was perfect for that. It had everything you need. The beds were extremely comfortable! We even woke up to snow one morning. My dad is older and had a little trouble getting in and out of the tub. My only suggestion would be a dresser of some kind in the master bedroom. I can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful Retreat

My husband, two boys (ages 9 & 5), and myself stayed at Magnolia Mountain Getaway for 6 days and it was so hard to leave! Such a beautiful cabin and property. Check in, and communication throughout our stay was a breeze. This was honestly the first time I've never had questions or needed anything fixed/replaced/supplied. Hoping we will make it back!

Colorado Trip

The property is located close to Boulder and Nederland. Nothing extravagant but nothing is missing either. Great views, close to hiking, skiing, and fishing. Check in and check out were simple and efficient. Owners live on property and were kind and helpful. The driveway can be hard to find especially from the West. If you have small children bring a humidifier, especially if you aren't used to the dry Colorado air. We would stay here again.

Beautiful sunrise!

Cozy house perfect for a family or 2 to 3 couples. Views off of the balcony were amazing. Enjoyed the sunrise with my coffee on the first morning. Driveway is dirt with some ruts so the Jeep we had came in handy.

Wonderful Mountain Stay

The house has a fantastic view for stargazing and gorgeous mountain views that are a dream to wake up to. The immediate surroundings are very quiet, but it only takes a quick 15 minute drive to get into Boulder. The hosts were very responsive, and provided access to essentials during our stay. If you're looking for something in this area, consider your search over!

Awesome Location/Boulder Getaway

The location of the property was perfect for us - close proximity to Boulder while being far enough to be peaceful, quiet, and without much light pollution at night (great for stargazing and photography). Wildlife visits every day/night - turkeys, hummingbirds, and a family of deer slept just below the back deck one night. The place could use a couple of upgrades, but it was comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. A great home base for excursions into Boulder, Rocky Mt Park, and surrounding hiking areas. Thanks!

Amazing space

Phenomenal location with great views. Clean, well- maintained, and close to Boulder and plenty of trails. We got our fill of strenuous hikes and then spent the evenings relaxing and looking at the stars from the porch. Great trip!

The BEST

I cannot say enough good things. Beautiful location, SO much to do in Boulder and my husband took advantage of fishing and hiking. The cabin was so immaculate and comfortable. It was great to have a full kitchen. Had some snow and it made everything look magical. Our hosts were super friendly and immediately reachable when we had questions. We will be back.

Beautiful View

The View was stunning. Cabin was as pictured. Proximity to Boulder and Nederland was great. Communication with the owner was solid. The only thing we would note is that it could help to have more information on the driveway. There is a marker but it comes quickly and is just before a sharp curve. Exiting felt scary since you can't see to the right until you are just outside of the driveway. Entering the property is also a little daunting as you can't see the property until you go up and over the entry. With it being so near the edge we were nervous.

GORGEOUS place to stay!

We had an incredible stay with even better views. The location was great, you’re about ten minutes from downtown which gives you plenty to do. Watching the sunrise in the morning over the mountains was breathtaking, and the deck gives you a great spot to sit and enjoy your coffee in the morning.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

For a remote setting this cabin has quick and easy access to Boulder and other points of interest. The cabin has modern amenities but retains a nice rustic feel. We loved the beautiful view from the deck.

Great stay and the cabin is very true to the pictures. The location is amazing and finding it with the additional instructions was very easy. There are some quirks to the place; but as someone else who lives in the mountains I understand living that high can dictate utilities and certain aspects of daily living! All in all our family enjoyed our stay!

Amazing stay right outside of Boulder

We absolutely loved our stay here. The pictures really don’t do the house, or the view, justice. The house was very clean and updated and had everything you may need. We spent a lot of time on the back deck just watching the sky. Bouder is only 10 minutes away, and we were even able to catch an Uber to and from town. I would highly recommend staying here!!

So cute

Adorable little cottage/cabin. It was perfect. The view is amazing. Host was great. We lost power/water for most of a day due to major utility work that was going on but we were given the heads up and we were just fine. Internet is good in the rental, which is good because phone service is patchy. Really fun place. Thanks!

Relaxing get away

AMAZING VIEW, CENTRALIZED LOCATION

This property had an impeccable view of the mountains, and you can even see downtown Boulder in the distance. Joseph communicated with us swiftly any time that we had questions. It is within driving distance of Eldora Mountain Resort (30 min) and the casinos in BlackHawk. (45 min) In the listing, the owner brings up that you will need chains or 4WD in the Winter months. Don't take this as a suggestion, take it as a MUST. The switch backs and driveway are steep and tight. Read that again. The switch backs and driveway are steep and tight. Switch your vehicle into 4WD the moment you leave the highway. You will not have a flat surface from this point on to do so.

Nice NYE Getaway to the Mountains

Our family of 4 which includes 2 adult daughters, enjoyed a nice relaxing getaway to the Boulder area for NYE. I chose this cabin as it was close to Nederland and Boulder and looked like just the peaceful atmosphere we wanted. It did not disappoint. The owner is responsive and kind and the cabin was just perfect. The beds were comfy and everything was clean and tidy. We appreciated that we could take our 2 dogs and they had a great time too. We would absolutely stay again. Thank you for sharing your cabin with our family. Happy New Year!

Was a great location. Near the National Park and Boulder. Clean and equipped with items to needed to support guests. Our dogs were welcome and enjoyed exploring and watching the wildlife and chickens, too!
