We loved our stay and found the Fairy Chimney beautiful and authentic. We had a little issue with the heat and were colder than preferable. I would love to come back in warmer months. Rose was a wonderful hostess.
I've stayed at the Fairy Chimney Inn many times before. Many. Its a real Cave Hotel, not one built out of bricks or stones. Carved. Authentic. But the hotel has new proprietors and they are ruining the place one day at a time. The grounds are neglected. The rooms not too clean. The owners fight and scream at night at each other. Lots of howling and tears. Loud music at night. Not the happy, clean place I was used to. Nothing hot for breakfast. It breaks my heart to write this review, but the truth has got to be told. Gone are the days that this once beautiful place needed to be considered.
"Real" cave hotel with beautiful views. The staff was really nice and helpful which made my stay enjoyable.

Hotel servis disposed . First day when we came owner was in wait until they found out where we stay . We checked in room was ok bed was fine stayed 4 days no one check the room or house keeping in the room we got kettle but no coffee or tea just sugar. Every morning you have to wait long hours to make breakfast and breakfast it wasn’t same as on the picture
Very informal property. Our room/ cave was a lot smaller than described in the booking. It had a vey unfinished feel and was musty / humid. The bathroom is disconnected from the headroom requiring a trip outside to visit. The manager is a man of few words but helpful. The breakfast is simple but serviceable. The outdoor area is nice but has bees/wasps. In the mornings, the hot air balloons come right over/near the hotel and are amazing. Our stay was ok/disappointing and we would not stay here again. There are many more appealing hotels nearby.
I cannot recommend this place enough! I was very overwhelmed by the sheer number of hotels when booking, but really lucked out here. Not only was it a gorgeous and authentic cave hotel, but really everything about it was fantastic. The location, customer service and rooms were beyond my expectations. And the 'guard dog' Panda was the sweetest. The owners went out of their way to help me find and book activities, at discounted prices when able. They would even come check if I wanted breakfast if I was running late, and set it out for me. It made the stay feel familial. There are so many hotels around, but if you're going to Cappadoccia, you should really stay in an authentic cave hotel. And this one is all that and more. I couldn't be more satisfied! And just an fyi - I was nervous about the 'natural aircon' situation in the middle of summer, but the cave really does keep the rooms cool. I used my heavy blanket at night, and took hot showers in the mornings. If I ever return, I will definitely stay here again.
I had a spectacular time at the Fairy Chimney Inn, Gulcan and her staff were very sweet and helpful. The rooms are so cozy and the view is unimaginable! Please take a visit to this magical hotel!
Our stay at the Fairy Chimney Inn was very lovely. The room was spacious and confortable, and the manager and his employee provided a great service. They were welcoming and attentive to our needs. For instance, the manager recommended us many attractions in the surroundings and took care of reservations (restaurants, hot air balloon). He even walked us to the restaurant on the first night we arrived since we did not know much the area yet. He also kept us informed about the hot air balloon launch (whether we should postpone or not our reservation until the next day because of unfavorable weather conditions). In short, by staying in this hotel, we benefited from a very genuine experience peculiar to Cappadocia, with the advantage of having a great service. The quality/price ratio was amazing. We are very grateful for making our staying so enjoyable!
People have different preferences. Though for those who like something more natural with a home-like atmosphere, and for those who want to feel a part of the place of the visit, Fairy Chimney Inn is best option I think. It was definitely for me: entering the room from the terrace with the view over the rocks, staying in a Turkish decor room (simple, but warm and cosy), having (Turkish) breakfast on the terrace under the tree... The hotel has definitely its charm. Adding very friendly and helpful staff, and a great location, if I am ever in Goreme again this will be the hotel I will stay. The only detail I would improve would be internet connection (quite an important thing for a modern internet-addicted people :). Though, the place in general, the whole area is so breath taking that... no minor problems may take it away. I also think that If you go to visit Fairy Chimneys, staying in one of them only adds to your experience. I do recommend!
how many of us gets to experience cave living in our lifetime? very few. and without the insulation of modern comfort? fewer still! that is what you get in Fairy Chimney Inn. it's out-of-this-world, basic fairy-tale-like adventure in a cave, with a twist of the holy! Cappadocia is one of the addressees of Saint Paul's letters, it was safe haven for secret worship of an outlawed god, it was where hermits and monks meditated while under the protection of the caves. Sleep, wake up and eat in a cave. accommodations were carved out of chimney-like stone formations that resemble a hermit's cave. this one in Fairy Chimney was preserved with such level of details that you get wooden door stoppers instead of door-knobs! on the whole an adventure that provides a unique departure from modern city living. if you are wishing for special get away, with fantasies of doing Han Solo, this is the place.
So you made up your mind to go to Cappadoccia and your looking for somewhere to stay. Read up on the area and find what makes this place unique, and go look at the pictures. So WHY would you want to stay in a normal hotel that looks like any other hotel in any other city in the world? Makes absolutely no sense. Herebyou stay in a super comfortable geological phenominon and the staff and the food is personal, hands on and authentic. You cannot do better than this. The owner is a qualified tour leader who hets everything at a better price and better condition..an absolute bonus. Ask for the chimney rooms. AWESOME
Our stay was a bit disappointing. We thought it would be fun to stay in a cave hotel, so we gave it a try based on the reviews we read, but it was better from the outside than inside. There were only 2 or 3 other guests at this hotel during our 3-night stay. There is an nice view overlooking the town of Goreme from the hotel, since it is one of the highest in town.
Our room was a bit cold and the mattress was somewhat lumpy. The duvet on the bed was warm enough, but it and some pillows smelled of sweat. It took a couple of minutes for the shower to get warm enough to tolerate, but when the hot water finally arrived it was good. WiFi was weak to non-existent within our room, so we had to go to the reception/breakfast area to get connected. Breakfast was disappointing.
In a small hotel such as this the staff should be more attuned to guests preferences/dislikes as per breakfast so that food is not wasted. If I have ordered a boiled egg for breakfast each of my first two days at the hotel, why on the 3rd day am I being presented with eggs scrambled with tomatoes (which I do not care for) without being asked?

A stunning cave hotel at the edge of Nevsehir
A group of 4 of us (1 couple and 2 singles) had stayed at the Kale Suite of the Fairy Chimney Inn at Nevsehir. The cave was beautifully restored and very specious. The location, at the edge of village, was magnificent, and gave us a view of both the village and the small valleys around it as well a great vantage point for watching the launch and flight of the hundred of hot air balloons in the morning.
Lovely hotel, we loved every second of it! My only recommendation is to make your hot air balloon reservation separately as the hotel prefers to only work with one or two affiliated hot air balloon companies.
Fantastic option for seeing the area and getting an authentic experience. The staff bent over backward to make sure we knew of local exploring options and even dropped us off at excursions or restaurants. Great breakfast, beautiful view and relaxing. No regrets at all!
we stayed at Fairy Chimney for two nights and the room is excellent. The hotel situates on top of Goreme so it has a nice open view of the town. The open dining area was great too and breakfast is accompanied by cute pets (panda the dog and a sweet little cat). The cave room is nice and cozy - always at the perfect temperature.
We wish we could stay there longer!! Perfect service, very friendly staff. The team goes out of their way to help. Although we were leaving the following morning at 7am, which was an hour before the breakfast time, we were served breakfast- it was amazing and we were really grateful to the team for doing that for us.
Highly recommend the hotel- you will not be disappointed!
