Great spot for our MG stay!
We came in for Mardi Gras and loved our stay above the surf shack. I didn't remember reading in the listing that this was a duplex, so we accidentally walked into the neighbors house when we arrived late Thursday night and almost let their dog out😬. The layout is shotgun style, as mentioned, so you do have to go through all the rooms den/bedroom/living to access the bathroom and kitchen. Which wasn’t really an issue for us because it was a group of 4 girls and we’re all very close, but wouldn’t probably be the best set up if you’re traveling as couples. The pull-out couch is in the room between the bedroom and kitchen/bath so if you are using that for sleeping just know there will be traffic to get to those rooms. You could put the provided air mattress in the front room, but there aren’t drapes to cover the windows & door in the front room so not much privacy and would be super bright in morning. I think if the property owner put a curtain rod up in there, it would make a great place to have as a sleeping area. The back yard, patio area is super cute and huge. A great place to relax and enjoy a cocktail or beer with friends. The only complaint was that the neighbors dog had pooped several times so make sure and watch your step. I found out the hard way while looking for the trash bins as we were cleaning up and checking out. Other than that the house, itself, was impeccable, great decor, comfortable bed, cool decor, and PHENOMENAL location. Street parking was easy to find within a block of the house day or night, even during Mardi Gras. Definitely would recommend for a girls trip or for a couple looking for a getaway.

Nice location
Overall things were nice and the location was great-2 blocks to our daughter’s home. We did have a big leak under the bathroom sink-water all over floor-management sent handyman next day. WiFi was tricky-handyman got it running. Inside shower curtain not cleaned-soap scum and mold I had to clean off. The kitchen was very nice.

Great location
Everything was great and accurate to the listing. My only complaint was the pullout sofa in the 2nd room. VERY uncomfortable. Best not to use that as a second bed if you want a good nights sleep.

Excellent location on Magazine for 2 people
The apartment is a typical NOLA style shotgun with nicely updated and well outfitted kitchen, and bathroom that do not take away from the charm of the unit. I should have paid better attention to the fact that there is no door between the main bedroom and the "den" which has a pull out for another two people. Our son was with us to visit our daughter who lives about 5 blocks away. If you are fine with other people going through the bedroom to reach the bathroom, and a lack of a privacy door, up to 4 can stay comfortably. The only other minor drawback is the very early morning exercise classes at City Surf below the unit. The location is right on the bustling that goes all the way to the city center and French Quarter along Magazine. It is also a few blocks from St. Charles and the streetcar. Because of the proximity to many wonderful restaurants, Whole Foods, Winn Dixie, and shops it would not be necessary to stray too far. There is no designated parking but we easily found parking within a minute or two walk.

Beautiful location; needs attention.
Very much enjoyed our stay here with a couple of caveats: kitchen fan didn't work and a few lights were out but the worst was the fold-out bed. We were 3 adults and needed it. It is your worst nightmare of a fold- out bed. Otherwise, ac worked well, nice shower, but, oh, that bed! My back was sore for days.

Really nice spot for a neighborhood visit to NOLA
I loved this spot with a good kitchen, a good porch and close to restaurants and shopping. Really high ceilings and a bit of room to spread out and enjoy a homey spot. I took a class at the surf inspired fitness studio downstairs and it was really challenging and fun!

Intolerable early morning noise from fitness studio below
The unit is very nice. Neighborhood is great, with Audubon Park in close walking distance and Whole Foods only a block away. Unit was well furnished and very clean, and I particularly appreciated the well appointed kitchen. This unit would work better for a couple sharing the 1 true bedroom than for two or more individuals using separate sleeping places, as the fold-out sofa bed in the sitting room (= 2nd bedroom) is worn and of poor quality. The layout in inconvenient, as one must travel through the master bedroom from the living or sitting room to access the bathroom or kitchen. Nonetheless, my adult son and I would have been very pleased with the place had it not been for the thumping, pounding noise from the fitness studio below. We knew about the studio in advance, and accepted the noise level at 8 pm. But when it commenced again at 5 am, we went belly-up. Ear plugs and a white noise machine didn't drown it out. We forfeited the next two nights we had paid for, and found alternative lodging in the city.

So convenient and comfortable
We came to NO this week to visit Loyola. This place was so nice for us. Although we were out and about most of the trip, this apartment was a quiet and comfy place to chill out. Also, we walked most everywhere - like every morning to La Boulangerie!

Love the location and condition. It could've used a lamp in the second room (where the TV is), but that's minor. My husband and I just needed one bedroom, so this unit was perfect. But I think it's a stretch to advertise it as 2 bedrooms. I love New Orleans shotguns, but others might not understand. Anyway, it was a great trip and I'll use you again next time.

Great location, access to a lot of great restaurants and bars
comfortable and convenient to all the great things the garden district has to offer. Plenty of walk-able restaurants and bars. Apartment was very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony people watching. You will hear noise from the fitness studio that sits below the apartment, but it wasn't anything was too disturbing. will definitely stay again.

Christmas in New Orleans
I chose this location due to being very close to Audubon Park, and close to Kid friendly restaurants. Our trip was Kiddo Focused so The Park, Zoo and City Park were our goals. I love uptown and the laid back vibe you get. I have stayed many locations in New Orleans, and this one had all we needed. The only negative I have for this one is the parking, if you plan on parking close by you may be a tad bit disappointed. On street parking is not in front of this location so we had to park two blocks away because of our arrival time (7:00 p.m.ish). With kiddos made it a little bit more of a struggle, so we pulled up in front and loaded and unloaded and then found a parking space. I am familiar with New Orleans and understand this, but to the unfamiliar may come as surprise. Great place and great location if you are not wanting the Party side of town.
