One good night
I enjoyed my stay, and the front desk, particularly the Italian (I think) gentleman was extremely helpful. Funky, hip place for sure. Lobby was really dark, but again, hip. Bed felt a bit small, and made noise when I moved, but overall comfortable.

Our recent stay was truly enjoyable. The hotel boasts a fantastic location with easy access to everything, and we especially appreciated the convenience of having Stumptown Coffee right there. The room itself was spacious and remarkably quiet, providing a peaceful retreat. However, the bustling lobby lacked a dedicated area for guests to relax, which felt somewhat inconvenient. Despite this minor drawback, we had a wonderful overall experience and are eager to return soon.

Bad service
Was yelled at by bell hop after asking to retrieve something from baggage held in storage. Did not fully hear his statement, asked a question, and he aggressively responded “you have to listen to me, you’re not hearing me”. Once checked in, it was extremely small (smaller than advertised) and smelled like spilled beer. Do NOT waste your money.

I had read a lot of mixed reviews on this hotel but still chose to stay as I love the Ace Hotel chain. I was so happy with our visit. We had 2 double rooms and luckily these were on same floor. Both with views of empire state and a great size. The check in was seamless and the staff so friendly. The area around hotel had so much going on and the general location made it very walkable for us to explore uptown one day then downtown another. A train stop also close by. Yes it’s dark, yes they could do with more shelving in bathroom and yes it’s a vibe!

Some basic details would have helped this hotel go from a very marginal experience to better. The first would be some sound proofing- we stayed on the 12th floor and could hear every street noise because the windows were old and not sound proofed. The second would be the condition of the elevators. With every trip up or down, the elevators grind and clink and there is a real fear ofbeing trapped. Finally, the "gym" was VERY hot and they had a peloton tread- while nice, required a code, was very rarely able to be connected to the internet, or working.
