We stayed at the Kixby for my daughter's 21st birthday. On arrival we were very pleasantly surprised to find that we'd been upgraded to a King and even more surprised to find a bottle of bubbles and a lovely birthday message from the team in our room. Such a lovely gesture, thank you :). The front desk staff were always courteous, we were always greeted with a smile, and they were very helpful if we needed advice. We arrived early and left late, and they were happy to accommodate our luggage both pre and post check-in. Our room was on the 10th floor, it was clean, tidy and of a good size, although there was some noise from the road outside as we were located at the front (I guess that's New York). However, this didn't bother us too much, as once our heads hit the pillow getting to sleep wasn't an issue. The rooftop bar was a nice touch, although we felt the drinks menu could have offered a little more choice on the cocktail front. There's complimentary flavoured waters (refillable bottle given at check-in), tea and coffee daily, which was also a nice thought. The hotel's location was just perfect, very central, in fact we couldn't have picked better. The subway was a couple of minutes walk and we were within a short stroll of both the Empire State Building and Macy's department store. There were an abundance of restaurants on the same street and we had a really nice meal in the Black Tap (burgers and craft beers) which is located next door. A really good stay - thank you!

The staff were very welcoming when we arrived. They gifted us complimentary refillable water bottles. We stayed here for my girlfriend’s birthday and they left her a hand written note in our room with some chocolates. The room was very clean and the AC was already set at the lowest setting. I would absolutely stay here again considering the convenience to stores and attractions around us.

Excellent location, fabulous rooftop bar with stunning view of Empire State Building, subway stop within 30 second walk, and comfortable room. It was loud at night (just usual traffic, sirens, garbage collection noises) but enough that we found it hard to sleep through the night. We only had the breakfast one morning because it seemed very expensive for what was on offer. Other than that, great stay!

Hotel Kixby has so many positives. The location for a NY trip is ideal. The hotel is clean and tidy. Plenty of places to eat close by and the subway is on the corner. The front rooms can be a bit noisy from the street but you soon get used to it. Staff are excellent and helpful. The roof top bar is very cool in the summer. Would recommend and return in any future visits.

This is a lovely hotel if you want something that doesn't look like a generic hotel. It has charm to it. We had a lovely stay and we loved being so close to the subway station. The rooftop bar is cool but it does occupy the elevators. And I saw a lot of guests having trouble in the elevator with their room key. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel to friends.

I had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Kixby and I would definitely stay here again. The room was very comfortable and spacious, and the hotel had a very calm feeling to it. There was a little noise from the streets but this was limited. The refreshment room was a welcomed treat.

The porter at check in was awful- rude and obnoxious. After this very poor start to a business trip, I slept in the room and used the gym. The hotel is very basic for the price- think wood panelling with peeling paint and a gym that’s very tired. I can’t understand the reviews- nothing about this hotel is anything over a three star. Stay at the citizen M or another hotel at this price. The service is awful, the rooms are small/basic, and the amenties are hostel level. Not a hotel I will be returning to

Very positive experience overall . Reliable cleaning staff. In good condition and quiet except for the air conditioning. Only negatives were loud air conditioning that blew right over the bed with no opportunity to adjust the vents, and despite the high “amenity fee” the coffee was out and ice machine not working.

I've stayed at the Kixby when it was Hotel Metro since it's a good location. The rooms are nice (though mine did not have blackout curtains) and clean - the beds are quite comfortable. The rooms are small compared to other cities, but not bad when compared to other hotels in Manhattan. The elevators are a little slow. There is a water and beverage station on the second floor that was a nice feature - however their espresso machine only works at odd hours. The rooftop bar had a nice view and service was decent. It's a quick walk to Bryant Park, Broadway and several other can't-miss attractions in the city. There are some great bars and restaurants a short walk away. Would definitely stay here again.
