We booked our stay months in advance for a girls weekend getaway with myself and 5 others. I attempted to contact the host 3 days prior, 2 days prior and the day of arrival for details on accessing the property. While en route to home, host finally responded and said that the property was unavailable because of an "emergency there and it looks like they need until tomorrow to fix it". I gladly accepted to allow the work to take place while we were there because we had little options to find a place on such short notice. An offer was made for us to stay in a ONE BEDROOM apartment in NYC. Initially I declined because of the limited space with 6 adults but when I realized my options were limited I asked how many the apartment can sleep, the host never responded. In fact, it wasn't until the next day when I reached out to the host, that I received any type of empathy for the stressful situation we were placed in. I have utilized VRBO numerous times and have never had such poor communication.
