We will not be staying at The Lombardy ever again. Rated a 4-star hotel, our room (2-queen studio) was on par with 2- or 3-star chain hotel rooms we've stayed in. The room was not at all welcoming. The amenities in the room, while adequate, were basic; nothing notable, no charm, no character. The room decor was nothing like the pictures on The Lombardy website. The website boasts, "There are no two rooms alike at The Lombardy, and fans of design would appreciate this" ... only fans of a minimalist perspective would appreciate this all white, fake wood floor room. The room was clean, and the bathroom was updated, but there was no place to put out one's toiletries. While the room is advertised as 'accommodating 3,' the walk-in closet sized kitchenette had 2 and only 2 of everything (e.g., 2 glasses, 2 coffee mugs, 2 spoons, 2 bottles of water, etc). It did have a coffee machine, no coffee was provided. (Even 2-star hotels provide coffee.) Rated a 4-star hotel, and priced as one, we expected a very different experience.

Everything was great except the entrance leads to 4 steps to access the lobby & check in. There is no ramp to easily roll luggage. No one offered assistance, nor was there a bellman upon exit. The doorman did assist with my luggage on arrival but I question the agility of someone in a wheelchair entering the property. I did not see a wheelchair lift. My king studio was spacious & clean. Some can light overhead need bulbs. It would be helpful to know ahead of time that coffee is not provided in room (although filters and coffee maker, toaster, and hit pot are available). I need coffee when I wake up. I would stay again & bring coffee. No restaurant on site, steakhouse is next door & other restaurants in the area. Service isn’t available

We had an awesome stay here. Our “standard queen” was spacious, quiet, and very cozy. The location is great, next to Central Park and Madison Avenue. We would stay here again!
