Stay was lovely, bar area was lovely, staff was perfect.
Some slight damage to my room door so couldn't shut it without lifting it slightly.
Overall though good.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service
The location close to the A34 allows for easy access to Oxford. The room was large and nicely decorated and furnished. The staff were mostly indifferent and not interested in satisfying their guests' needs. The short stay at the Swan Inn felt awkward and it was not an ideal hotel ambience.

Not the best stay.
When we checked in the lady behind the bar was very helpful and gave us lots of information. When we woke up in the morning there was no staff - the doors to the bar/staff areas were all locked so we could only get out of the building via the fire escape. We could not find anyone to ask about paying for our room and had to wait around for almost an hour.
Breakfast the next morning was just self serve toast and an apple. No cooked breakfast option and no one to ask about this. By the time we found staff it was time to check out.
Room was very hot, and beds were very old and uncomfortable. But must say, toilet areas and sheets appeared clean.
Greeted on arrival and all was explained as I was shown to my room. The room and bathroom were clean. Bedside lamp had USB points which was convenient. Breakfast was simple although three out of the six tables had not been cleared after guests that had been and gone by 9:00 - in fact I didn't see any staff at all in the morning before I left at 10:00 although it had been explained that I could simply leave in the morning with no checkout required.
Really lovely family run pub, Simon and Amy are wonderful nothing is too much trouble. This is the first place my husband who has numerous allergies has been where he has had actual options. The food is all excellent and we know we pretty much ate our way through the entire menu. Our dogs were made welcome and we had a lovely stay.
