For a basic room to sleep it’s fine but the cockroaches in the room and the shower are a real turnoff. Luckily we were just at the room to sleep and leave. Staff there were great though

I recently stayed at the Sunny Side Tavern and had a pleasant experience. The rooms were spacious, clean, and tidy, which I really appreciated. However, the in-house tea and coffee left much to be desired. I was provided a coffee pod but there was no coffee maker to use it with. Despite this minor inconvenience, the stay was nice enough, and overall, I enjoyed my time there.

Check was a breeze, nice staff, family room was quite musty when we entered and had to air room for an hour or more. Was a reasonably quiet night at pub downstairs but still quite audible in room directly above main bar. Bathroom was ok but did have mould in places. While room can take 5 occupants (what we booked) no change to configuration (we added comment for a trundle) for 3rd child. Made do with kids blankets and ottomans. Ok for what we needed following show at entertainment centre (10min walk) but just old school pub accomodation.

The lack of individuual bathrooms was not clearly indicated when picking out the accommodation. Wrong choice for that reason. It is a good place for youngsters not for an old dog like me.

Water pressure to shower in room 9 was pathetic. Shower head was also falling off the wall. Other than that all good. Would suggest that the minimal expense involved in installing a kettle and small fridge in each room would be a good improvement.

Very good - staff friendly & particularly helpful. Not so good - horrible smell in stairs & corridor. Not sure what it was, smelled like a cross between stale wee/vomit & disinfectant.
