Located on the beautiful North Bayfront in Newport Beach, California, this home is a great Balboa Island beachfront getaway. This two story back unit allows vacationers to enjoy Bayfront living at its finest. With a beautifully designed open-air layout, vacationers have found the perfect family or romantic home.

This home has two bedrooms, two baths, and full kitchen with floor to ceiling glass windows and picture-perfect views of the bay in the living room and bedroom. Please note both bedrooms are not completely private. Master is an open loft style to the living area. Back bedroom over the kitchen does not have a door at the top of the stairs. There is a one-car garage with a full size washer/dryer included in the space. a/c is portable unit.

Vacationers can explore the beach on the Balboa Peninsula via the ferry off Agate Avenue, or just enjoy the walkway around Balboa Island. The Balboa Village and Balboa Pier are also a short ferry ride away. Rent a bike, Jet Ski, stand up paddle board, or Duffy boat. Whale watching and deep-sea fishing trips are available daily. On the Balboa Peninsula our guests can relax along the pristine beaches, go surfing nearby at the Wedge or Newport Beach, check out the FUN ZONE which offers entertainment such as a merry-go-round and other attractions, and eat or drink at one of the many restaurants and bars. The walkability of this property is excellent and the premises are a close stroll away from the Marine Avenue shops and restaurants that make Balboa Island a perfect vacation destination.Please note that there is construction currently taking place across the alley on Apolonia.

Balboa Stay
The property was in a great location but it was not made clear that both bedrooms had no doors and were open as they are both lofts. The one bathroom is incredibly small and the other had to go down stairs. We had people banging on the connecting wall when we were simply watching TV at 10pm. The code to the garage did not work but only worked with the remote once you were in the unit. I think if the description is made clearer it would help manage expectation.

Balboa Is vacation
The peace of our stay was substantially altered by major street drain repairs which neither the owners or property management co had notice of more than 3 days before our arrival. The management co was VERY helpful intrying to rectify the problem and offered a move to larger property options in the surrounding Peninsula though we choose to stay. We will definitely choose this same property for future stays.

A Great Week in Balboa
My family and I just had a lovely week in Balboa at the unit on North Bay Front and Apolena. I grew up in LA and would rent a house every summer with my parents from the 70s through the early 90s. Having moved out of California as an adult, I wanted to give my two young daughters the same experience and they had a blast. The unit is very clean and looks like it has just recently been made into a rental. Great natural light, excellent location 50 feet from the beach and a very short walk to all the shops on Marine. The only thing that was a bit odd about it was that its not really a 2 BD as there are no doors on the rooms. It’s two separate loft areas but noise does travel. The more private loft does not have a bathroom, the less private loft has a tiny bathroom. Loft aside, of the many rental properties on Balboa that I have stayed in over the years this was certainly one of the nicest. Would happily stay again.

Very Uncomfortable
I do recommend staying on Balboa Island. This particular property doesn't have a balcony or patio, the picture that is shown is for the downstairs unit. The bedroom that has a bathroom attached has the most uncomfortable bed I have EVER slept in. The bathroom isn't shown in the pictures because the size of it would be a deterrent, there isn't even a towel bar to dry out your towel. The bathroom is too small to change in and since the bedroom is a loft, you get to change in front of the neighbors and your guests below in the living room. Fortunately, there were only 3 of us staying in the condo, I don't recommend for 6 as listed. There is a quite small couch or rather love seat that will only accommodate 3 people. The kitchen is acceptable for people that plan to eat every meal out. The kitchen didn't have a chef's knife, paring knife, container with lid, filters for the coffee machine, or any cleaning supplies for the counter tops. I have stayed in countless home rentals and all of these items are usually pretty basic. I really contemplated giving this review, as I usually only give props to those that I have had a great stay at. I am hoping that the owner takes this as advice to further improve their guests experience.
