Honestly this wasn't my first choice for accommodations when searching in Norfolk. I wanted to stay closer to downtown near the venue I went to during my stay. I couldn't find anything that I was willing to pay for in that area so I found this place by the beach. I honestly wasn't expecting much given the room rates, and was only interested in a cheap place to stay near some things I wanted to go to. For the first time in a while I was pleasantly surprised. It's an older style motel, but has been recently updated. The rooms while on the smaller side, were still comfortable and clean. And the toilet was a sufficient distance from the shower which isn't always the case. They had a nice shared courtyard, which had it not been so windy I would've used more. They were also a short walk to the beach, basically a block away. The staff/owners were friendly and helpful. They greeted me every morning while they were making their rounds as I was leaving and answered my questions. One of the better lodging experiences I've had recently and would highly recommend.

Updated room. Spacious for two. Need to clean tile floor in bathroom a bit better, dirt build up. Quiet and otherwise clean. Easy check in even at 11pm. Cute courtyard. Would stay again.

The gentleman at the front desk greeted me promptly upon arrival and was friendly, pleasant, & attentive. Both check-in and check-out was quick & easy. The property is quaint, clean, well-maintained, & located in a quiet neighborhood convenient to our relatives' house nearby. The shower in our room was great, lots of flow & plenty of hot water. Wi-Fi and TV was good. Parking was a bit tight though for our full-sized pick-up truck, but was doable. And, the queen bed was a bit small for us (we're used to our full-king at home) but comfortable. We'll definitely stay here again when we visit the area.

Very budget friendly motel to stay in. Owner was very nice and cares about his property and the people staying in it. Their dog that greets you makes the location feel very homely, would definitely stay again.

Excellent stay... Beautifully renovated rooms, very cozy... Really loved the small open area to rest or eat in the middle of the inn, very great use of space. Excellent customer service. Dont let the outside appearance of bldg fool you

A little gem in Ocean View. I needed something simple for a quick overnight between OBX and Philadelphia and the Bay Inn in Ocean View is perfect. close to the Bay Bridge Tunnel. I love supporting local business, and this was no different. The owners are annually making renovations to bring property details up-to-date, like the beautifully finished bathrooms. One block to the beach.

The Bay Inn is a wonderful place to stay for a budget traveller. Cozy beds, rooms feel both compact but are still homely. A short walk to the Atlantic coast and in walking distance of shops and restaurants
