The room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable with several appliances/conveniences including TV, microwave, coffee maker, massager and ironing board, Unfortunately the phone didn't work nor the TV remote which required several walks to the front desk. Our friend in a nearby room reported that her microwave didn't work. Breakfast, continental style, was included. A greater disappointment was that the restaurant was closed as were some other amenities. Staff was courteous and professional. Overall, I would say that the hotel was still good value for money as there weren't too many other choices in this area outside North Bay.

I booked 2 queen beds months before we arrived. I had communication between the hotel via emails and calls before our stay. We arrived for our reservation and they informed us that although they had the proof of our reservation (it was printed on a paper) and although we had booked months in advance, they did not honour our reservation. They said that they had other people staying and they were busier, so they chose to give away the room that we reserved. Furthermore, they tried to give us enough beds for our party. However, they did not even give us enough bedding for the night. We had to put towels on ourselves to stay warm. I was then informed that because I did lodge a formal complaint during my stay they would not even consider a refund. Even though when I did express my disappointment about the stay, they kept saying to direct my complaints to Expedia and not themselves - taking no responsibility for the way they handled our stay. I will not return to this hotel, and would not recommend it. However, the team at Expedia helped me the best they could. The two agents I spoke to were great and truly cared about our experience.

No food left at breakfast. Towel rack fell down in washroom. They tried to charge me a pet fee for a hamster The internet was spuratic! On and off They changed our room from the 3rd floor down to the basement. The pool and hot tub. Remained Broken from the time I was there 3 months before! And the ice machine was broken had to get ice from the front desk! The housekeeper was the best part of the trip she was great and friendly

Room was large and clean...but overall rating for hotel should be...Out of Order. The pool had obviously not been functioning all season. the outdoor hot tub...was a hole in the ground where the hot tub...used to be. the website booking still had them listed as "facilities". Entry area both outside and inside was dirty/worn/unkempt. However, if all you're looking for is a clean room and a good price, the hotel gets a passing grade. OH ya..bottom portion of shower curtain was covered in mold.

This property is run down and falling apart. I rented the king suite with a jacuzzi and fireplace and it was in terrible condition. The floor had not been vacuumed, there were bottle caps, leaves and plastic pieces all over the floor. The microwave had sticky grime on the door. The paint was peeling of the ceiling in the bathroom, and it didn't have a fan. The poker handle for the fireplace was wrapped in duct tape. The desk chair had some kind of green crust along the side the looked like snot. The fake leather of the chair was all peeling off. We were on the ground floor and the patio door would not lock. The front desk gave me attitude when I asked to change rooms, but I must say that the maintenance man that came to fix the patio door lock was very polite. The curtains were falling out of the ceiling and pieces of the curtain clips were all over the floor, there were cobwebs in the corners. The carpet was missing pieces and had long strings from where it was unravelling. When I checked out, the girl at the front desk (different girl from when I checked in) Was very nice and helpful. I wish I could submit the pictures I took.

The property was not clean outside cigarette buts all over the grounds, and inside the place looked run down walls and doors were very dirt in some areas of the hotel. No pool to use and no hot tub, its been like that for many years does not look like they are planning to fix them. The hotel does not even give you a discount for not being able to use them or even a senior's discount.

Took 4 interventions to open the room door. The door had to be forced open by a shoulder hit. Once opened the locking mechanism did not function, the safety chain was broken. Staff had to assign me another room. My safety & security was my big concern. I am 79 years young and have used this facility for 55 years. Lots has changed. Mould around the bathtub enclosure. Door issues in room # 222. Cleanliness issues in room # 221.

building felt pretty dated, like 1/2 the property in disrepair amidst renovations? advertised as resort, but 2/3 of amenities unavailable. Pool, (out of order), hot tub (o.o.o) bar and restaurant, (o.o.o) sauna (o.o.o) mattress was dreadfully uncomfortable like sleeping on plywood or something. And this ice machine outside my room had a loud hiss going on every 20 mins all night long. Wouldn't recommend.
