Could not fault this stay. Exceptional service throughout. Very comfortable bed in en suite room with tub. Table service at breakfast which is very rare these days. Would definitely stay again.
Very welcoming & helpful team especially Matthew - thank you. Comfortable room that was very clean. Lovely restaurant & food. As it is a character older property soundproofing levels meant some noise from other guests was noticeable.
The staff members I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. There was a good choice of menu options for breakfast.
On site parking meant that it was a short walk into the city centre.
Location was the best thing - close enough to walk to the city centre (though buses were also very near).
We were roomed in an annex which was fine, just a short walk from the main building. Room itself was a good size, ensuite with a bath. Heating was a bit hit and miss - radiators were either red hot or off. Mattress was softer than we would like - not much support, though I guess others may be fine with it. Otherwise fine.
Breakfast was of good quality and choice, however, unusally, all items had to be ordered, there was no buffet for even cold items such as fruit and yoghurts. Perhaps it saves waste, but not something I've seen for a while.
Also had reasonably priced EV charging.
Lovely clean, cosy hotel close to the town centre. Amazing staff and very enjoyable stay. Special thanks to Matthew who was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed chatting with him in the bar and he quickly resolved a minor issue we had with our bath.
