Great beach side stay
The location of this property is excellent, 50 ft from the beach. It is not handicapped accessible and has lots of stairs. The enclosed deck and walkway was great to contain the kids and dogs. Sunsets and sunrises are beautiful and restaurants/shops are easy access, some by walking. The rental was not spotlessly clean as we had asked given the one other highly negative review. Kitchen drawers and utensils needed cleaning, windows were dirty and many don't work/have no screens/have construction tags, sofa and chair were so stained we had to cover with sheets, a dirty sock along with dirt was under the sofa, and half the outdoor furniture was covered with bird droppings... The good news is, it is very easy to clean up and we did so at the start and end of our stay. It sleeps 8 adults in four bedrooms, with an extra room with bunk queen size beds we didn't use. The one king bed had a very uncomfortable and noisy mattress/spring support. The staff at Better Beach were very unhelpful dealing with concerns regarding the one very negative rental review on VRBO. They in the end assured us it would be spotless on arrival, not really the case. As with all beach houses, expect a few bug visitors in the night in bathrooms and wet areas. Despite the minor drawbacks, we had a wonderful time in this house. The beach and area are a fantastic place to stay. The house was very fun to stay in, the kitchen was well equipped and helped us make great meals, and the renovated spaces cleaned up easily. It was very dog friendly and easy to keep clean with pets. We filled out a post visit survey with great detail and we hope BBR will act on the suggestions and issues we gave them to make future guest's stays even better.

False Advertising and Terrible Customer Service
Our family traveled from IL and MO, a total of 14 people. The house we reserved was listed as "Sleeps 14" but about a month before our stay we looked closer at the bedroom pictures and it appeared there were not enough beds for 14 people. I sent a message to hopefully clarify since the pictures did not match the property description. No one ever answered the message. Weeks later, after multiple attempts, we were able to contact someone from the rental company. They admitted that the property was misrepresented in the listing and offered to place us in a bigger house or provide roll-away beds. They were unable to place us in an appropriately sized house so they provided roll-away beds. They admitted the false advertising was their fault. They offered an incredibly small amount of compensation, but not an appropriate amount for effectively ruining our vacation. Once we got to the house, it was very hot. We called the rental company and were completely dismissed, they told us it was hot because we were going in and out too much. The next day we called again, two different men came to the house, they both were completely unprofessional and RUDE, again telling us that it was our fault for opening and closing doors. One of them eventually admitted that the HVAC system was not sized appropriately for the house. The temperature of the house was unbearable (76-82 degrees) even when we remained out of the house for hours and hours, the house still did not cool. The thermostat in the house kept giving error messages "There may be a problem with the cooling system. For the past 4 hours the thermostat has been calling for cool, but the room temperature has increased by 7.3F." This error appeared many times, even when we were out the house all day/evening. The air filters looked like they had not been changed in years so we bought and replaced them thinking that may help. Also, the house was dirty upon arrival so we bought swiffers and a mop - the floors were absolutely disgusting. Layers of dirt and dust covered ceiling fans and other surfaces. A few people in our family had difficulty breathing while they were in the house - certainly made worse by the heat. Our family had traveled hundreds of miles, spent thousands of dollars to have a nice family vacation. Of course, we tried to make the best of it, but the false advertising, house size, terrible customer "service," unbearable heat in the house, and filthy house made it extremely difficult.
