Neighbourhood description
There is a nice quiet park area on one side of the complex and a children's park area on the other side. Our apartment is on the quiet side of the complex at the far end. The other end of the Molino Blanco holiday apartments leads straight on to the nearest shops and restaurants. 2 minute's walk to a dozen more restaurants, including Paddy's Point Famous Spanish Irish Bar.
La Zenia is a very safe area which is suitable for all ages, with plenty of family entertainment. More nightlife is a 5-minute taxi ride away at Cabo Roig or Torrevieja.
There's a taxi rank just 2 a minute's walk from Molino Blanco apartments. Great if you want a trip to Torrevieja for the day or down to the glorious Mar Menor area for some healthy healing of Lo Pagen mud or explore a bike ride around the famous La Manga.
And of course, the superb sandy La Zenia beach is a 10-minute walk, with plenty of other beaches and bays in walking distance too.
Getting around
Everything you need for a holiday is within walking distance.
But if you do hire a car there is plenty of parking around the edge of the Molino Blanco apartments. It is a safe area and right next to the local police station, but still advice is not to leave anything on show in your car.
Transport options, if you want to give your walking legs a rest:
Scooters are easy to hop on and off and ideal for a quicker trip to La Zenia Beach. Just sign up for one of the apps and pay as you go. You will see the scooters around, and to sign up, just use your phone to scan the QR code on the scooter.
Zenia Boulevard shopping centre is a 10-minute walk away, there are zebra crossings across a couple of roads, just make sure you use them to cross safely.
The taxi rank area nearby is an option to travel, and from Zenia Boulevard, there is a taxi rank area as well.
Local busses run around the area, the main bus stop is at Zenia Boulevard, from here there's a bus to Torrevieja at just €1.50. It is possible to get the bus from Torrevieja to Alicante airport as well or from the Airport to Torrevieja and then to Zenia Boulevard at just €7. But obviously takes a lot longer than a direct taxi.
Cycle hire is available nearby, just a 5-minute walk to the bike hire centre.
