Well let's start off with the good. Nice house, beautiful views, (stellar really) nice area just far enough out of town, but close enough to do what you want without driving an hour.
The bad: No AC in the house. It's not listed as having or not having AC. Like most, we assumed it did. We unloaded, turned the AC on came back 2 hours later and it was still 80+ degrees in the house. No special instructions about cooling the house, outside of don't leave the house with the windows open, because of bears, and don't leave the windows open all night, again, because of bears. Before contacting the "host" we investigated and found the pad and lines and electrical box for the AC unit, but no unit. We thought maybe the unit had been stolen, but the lines were capped off properly, so it just added to the confusion. Reached out via the links provided and was advised by the host that the house "never had AC" and "It wasn't listed as an amenity". I should point out that the fireplace is listed, but the rules book left in the house states it's not to be used. I of course documented all of this, advised the host I felt mislead, and the host stated he would contact me the next day. He called was extremely rude, said no one in the area has AC (dis-proven by simply looking next door) said "the house never had ac, I watched it being removed." Listing said 2 queen size beds and a King. We found all to be queens. Host stated he wouldn't do anything about it presumably because of the AC debacle.
