The lodge is built on a steep slope, amongst thick forest, making you feel connected to nature. There’s a nice view across the valley to forested slopes that guests can enjoy while eating in the open-air dining area. The “lobby” also has no walls or windows and features comfortable furniture, games and a fire pit to roast marshmallows in the evening. The chorus of birdsong is amazing and changes throughout the day. It’s quite loud at night, so light sleepers beware. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and professional. The food is excellent – fine restaurant quality and plentiful. Ample opportunities are available to learn more about the local flora and fauna as well as visit the Mashpi conservation area. The individual cottages are clean and the beds comfortable. My only caveat is to remind folks this is an eco-lodge, not a luxury resort. It’s clean, comfortable and safe, but not as well endowed with amenities as high-end properties. My expectations were exceeded though, and I’d return in a heartbeat.

Die Familie hat noch nicht so viel Erfahrung in diesem Gewerbe. Ob alle Bewertungen "echt" sind bezweifle ich. Unterkunft generell ist schön, aber als "Alternativ" zu betrachten (Holzhütte) WC und Dusche mit Wasser aus dem Wald.Die einzige Angestellte macht alles, vom roomservice über Kellnerin bis zur Massage und Wellness (was wir nicht genutzt hatten). Frühstück ist ok aber das andere Essen (a la carte) nur mäßig. Und dazu sehr überteuert für diese Qualität. Auch ein halb eingeschenktes Glas Rotwein aus Chile (ca 0.1l) wird für 6$ verkauft.Es wird morgens gefragt was man mittags essen will.. und am Mittag dann das Abendessen, ohne direkten Hinweis was es jeweils kostet. Und dann wollen sie für ein Essen ohne Getränk 16$ Das passt einfach nicht. Aber trotzdem. Es sind nette Leute, eine alternative Anlage und eine schöne Natur. Empfehlen kann ich es für 1-2 Tage Aufenthalt.
