Welcome to the Mostero House where architecture, art, design and natural desert landscape converge to create a very special Palm Springs masterpiece. More than 3,000 square feet of pure desert decadence - an exceptional work of art and design that blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor living. This is a very special property created for Modernism Purists who want to immerse themselves in the true Palm Springs experience.

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES
The grounds of this home are uniquely gorgeous. The stunning desert landscape and striking architecture create the ideal canvas for the original art masterpieces painted by renown artist Zio Ziegler specifically for this property. The Mostero House commissioned the San Francisco-based artist to create nine larger than life murals that seem to dance around the exterior of the home - creating a unique and inspiring visual experience. These words from Zio Ziegler sum up the vibe: "There is no meaning except for that which the viewer designates. My paintings begin with an existential journey, and can only end with an absurdist conclusion - the rest is just a vehicle for conveying this."

INDOOR LIVING SPACES
First built in 1954, this iconic ranch-style home has been entirely reimagined by the current owner - an architect who acquired the property from his family. The home has been reconfigured to open up the interior while respecting its midcentury roots. The result is an open concept floor plan with four deluxe sleeping quarters, an additional swanky mid mod lounge and expansive walls of glass that blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living in true Palm Springs style.

The modern kitchen opens to the interior dining and living areas. Finishes include period-specific brickwork for the fireplace, walnut paneling as well as polished concrete and terrazzo floors. State-of-the-art recessed lighting sourced from Scandinavia enhances the home’s modern aesthetic. Furnishings include carefully selected pieces by South American designer Carlos Vergara and French company Kann Design, along with treasures from the owner’s collection by Hannah Morrison, Roberto Pamio, Noti Massari, Renato Toso, Arne Jacobsen among others.

SLEEPING QUARTERS
Sweet dreams await in all of the bedrooms at the Mostero House. Each bedroom has private spa-like baths, with two primary king bedroom suites that have direct access to the unbelievable pool area or front patio. No matter what bedroom you chose, you'll have your own private oasis to rest after a sun-filled day splashing around in the pool!

Awesome time at the Mostero House! The location was within walking distance to everything Palm Springs has to offer yet the house was secluded and quiet. The house was a beautiful example of the mid-century modern design, and was surprisingly comfortable. Great pool and back-yard area. We'll definitely be back!

Beware of property managers - Evicted with infants at midnight!
We booked the house as a family holiday vacation rental. Our guests that were staying at the house were the same as reflected on our rental agreement, including infants and children under 5. Even though we were a family gathering, we were not a wild bunch. Neighborhood ordinances prohibit group gatherings and music from playing outside. Unfortunately, this was not communicated to us and we were evicted by the property managers at midnight on the 3rd night. We had to wake the babies, and scramble to find a place to stay. The property managers were unforgiving and blamed it on a citation which we did NOT receive from local law enforcement. Despite calm reasoning on our behalf, we were threatened that all the adults would be arrested and the children would be taken into CPS unless we evicted the property in one hour. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by any owners, let alone property managers, of any home I’ve ever stayed at. We are respectful, family home-owners that haven’t been on a vacation in two years. I am required to submit this review before moving forward with attempting to reclaim 3 nights of rental fees that were unfulfilled. Renters, beware.

Amazing apart from overnight temperature
This is a wonderful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s immaculately cleaned and very spacious. The only thing to note was it was very warm at night when the AC went into economy mode and most of us had trouble sleeping. I asked the property manager to reduce the temperature or offer an alternative (there were only two fans on site) and we rebuffed. Shame really, would have been a simple fix. The AC units are all locked and we weren’t able to control them.

A Mid-Century Modern Classic
This house was an amazing place to spend some time in Palm Springs! Recently renovated but in keeping with its mid-century modern roots, the house is very clean and open with lots of space. The kitchen was super well equipped, with multiple methods for making coffee and even a blender. The unique murals on the exterior walls really add to the cool vibe. It's only two blocks to the main street, which has lots of restaurants and things to do, so you can easily walk to a lot of places. The house is super interesting, and it was a lot of fun just looking at all the details. The highlight is definitely the pool! Make sure you leave time in your schedule at Palm Springs to just hang out and swim and relax by the pool! I will definitely stay here again when I visit Palm Springs!

Our family group had a lovely stay in this beautiful home. The main room is spacious and furnished attractively with comfortable, authentic pieces from the era. It was nice having four bedrooms (three with king beds and one with a queen), each with a firm but comfortable mattress and an attached bathroom. The kitchen has high-end appliances and is well-equipped. We also appreciated and enjoyed the cool desert-y landscaping, outdoor art, stunning pool, and sweet mountain views. The neighborhood is quiet and posh, and just a few blocks from town. Truly hope to return someday to this special place.

Easy relaxed living close to downtown
Las Palmas is a lovely quiet neighborhood. This house was very easy with little kids. Vast spaces and not too many things to have to keep watching with them. It is a really easy walk to coffee and upper part of the main Palm Springs shopping zone. The steam shower was something I have wanted to try forever. Would happily return to this house.

Beautiful home to host family and friends in the center of everything
It’s always a gamble when you book a rental home, we definitely hit the jackpot with this one! The design was really thoughtful with details like blackout curtains, beautiful outdoor lighting and integrated art everywhere. We had so much space all 6 guests had plenty of privacy and could sleep in or rise early. Walking around the neighborhood was just a gift, vista Las Palmas is really just so special. You are walking distance to downtown yet you don’t hear a thing at night. We were also surprised to find a big party room to watch movies or play cards! Hanging out at the pool was lovely and easy because it’s not too deep. Don’t hesitate to make this your home in Palm Springs on your next trip.

Lo-fidelity Artful Setting
House is lovely in a very mid century way and mostly as advertised. The Ziegler murals on outer walls and landscaping is truly beautiful and made us happy. The listing reads 4 King beds, when there is actually a Queen in one of the rooms. Fun room TV never worked as remote was lost - Acme came out to remedy, but never brought new remote, so we were never able to use that tv. Both bathrooms on one side of house don't have doors - odd and not great. And the pool was murky from day one. And then there's the PS noise compliance issue. This is no joke folks. We were sited the first night without warning. If Acme house wants to protect a home owner's vacation rental permit for a home that sleeps 8 (and they knew the code compliance were on their way to us) they should have called us. Something is very fishy with this system. Neighbor behind us was playing porn super loud and on another day, very loud music. But somehow our little 2 x 2" music cube played thru a phone on a Friday night at 8:45pm got us a $500 fine. For a group of over 50's, we were paranoid the rest of our stay there. Bottom line: if you want to have outdoor fun, stay at a resort and not a vacation rental in PS.

Perfect Palm Springs Getaway
Loved our stay at Mostero House. Whenever we go to Palm Springs we stay in this area (Las Palmas). The houses are amazing and this one was no exception. The house is spacious with bedrooms on opposite sides of the house (nice for a little privacy). The main living room was huge and beautifully decorated. The only think I would change is the seating in the TV-watching room. The couch, while nice to look at, was not particularly comfortable for watching movies. But that was a small detail and we had an amazing stay and appreciated the change of scenery during the pandemic.

Great House in Old Las Palmas
The rental process was fairly straight forward. The house was very good. Most importantly it was cleaned well and masks and sanitizers were available. Well appointed kitchen, nice period mid century furnishings. All of the bedding and towels were first rate. There were some rough spots. The alarm system started chiming to signal that a door was open despite all doors being closed. The TV in the game room was not connected to the WiFi, a sprinkler in the back yard broke and needed to be repaired while we were in the pool, and one of the outlets in one of the master bathrooms did not work. The property manager was quick to answer texts and remedy most issues quickly, just wish there were less little issues. Overall a good stay. The location is perfect, walking distance to Palm Canyon and good restaurants. I would go back for sure.

Surpassed our Expectations!
The listing was very attractive with nice photos etc. When we arrived we were able to appreciate what a wonderful property this is. Property on a corner which was quiet with sculpted desert plants. Beautiful pool area and interesting art on the walls and inside. The house has all the amenities with some pleasant extras, steam shower, Bluetooth speakers and 5 bathrooms and a bar area. Showers suffered from a bit of calcium build up, which needs regular cleaning.

Friends Get Away
We had an amazing time. This house was larger than it appeared on the website. There was the added bonus of a soaking room with a steam shower. The place was amazing. Everything in the home was high end from the silverware to the pool furniture. The only critique is the flying charcoal bugs that happen in the summer. There's nothing they can do about the bugs, but there should be bug zappers near the doorways and they may need to reseal the windows and doors to be sure they aren't getting in even when you aren't opening the doors. We felt like we couldn't go out to the pool at night because there were so many of them and they would get into the house. The bugs are harmless, but still. The house is beautiful and the view from the pool, which was pretty large, was magnificent. This house is also in a great location near the downtown area. We had a marvelous time and would go back again and again.
