This is a beautiful new hotel in the heart of Palm Springs. Our room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. While the lobby is on ground level, all hotel rooms are above on the second and third levels. The Thompson's pool area is quite nice, though we didn't utilize it this trip due to the weather. The hotel restaurant and bar seem to both be very popular, with good reason. Parking is valet-only (which I wasn't thrilled about); however they offered electric vehicle charging at no additional charge. Both were included in the "resort fee."

Hot water was not consistent. Had issues with the shampoo and other shower containers not operating correctly. Hotel was nice and would go back but they are still working out some items with a new hotel. Location was great.

Great new addition to PS!
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at The Thompson. We had been to Palm Springs before, but it was nice to stay somewhere that was more centrally-located. (Definitely walkable, you can also easily take an Uber to most other spots in Palm Springs within 10-15 min.) Service was warm and they are incredibly dog-friendly, even in the restaurant/bar, which was a big plus for us as we brought along our pup. The other draw (as is with Thompson Hotels in general) is the design - while the hotel isn't fully finished yet, the rooms are thoughtfully appointed, chic, have great lighting in the bathroom, and very comfortable beds. I believe most if not all of the rooms on the property have a balcony. My only criticism here is that our room faced a somewhat busy street, and you could hear the traffic in the evenings - but we're from NYC, so it wasn't a deal-breaker for us. We didn't get to use the pool, but it looked great, and the gym was spacious and relatively well-equipped. Lola Rose (the property's bar and restaurant) was also a nice spot to hang out for a drink and a bite, although service was a little more on "Palm Springs time" unless you are in the main dining room. Overall, a nice spot to stay that I would recommend if you wanted to be more central, and especially wonderful if you have a dog.

The hotel is stunning, staff is very attentive and friendly. The only downside: To access the pool, the elevator opens directly into a quite swanky/trendy restaurant on the 2nd floor …. The only way to the pool is through the restaurant- you definitely feel very very out of place.

Great Hotel Downtown Palm Springs
Everyone at The Thompson Hotel was extremely friendly. Our room was clean and had a very spacious balcony. We loved the various outdoor firepits where you could sit at night. We will stay there again.

There may still be a few kinks related to the opening and ongoing construction, but the hotel is very nice. Great pool area and bar, restaurant food is good, the hotel car is a treat, and the guest rooms are comfortable. My room didn't have a place to work, so I was on the balcony, which was a bit loud. Hallway noise traveled into my room, but there was no noise from adjacent guestrooms. Water took almost 5 mins to warm up for afternoon and evening showers, but mornings had no issue. As I have experienced with other hotels in this destination, they need to work hard to fulfill the promise of the price point, something their competitors have not learned. Kudos to the valet team - always courteous, helpful and willing to get me where i was going. And front desk gave a great brunch recommendation.
