Beach Accesses: There are several convenient beach accesses! All you have to choose is how you want to get there!


Below are 3 of the most popular accesses:


 


Gulf Lakes Beach Access: The Gulf Lakes access is a Walton County beach access located about 1 mile to the East of Prominence. This is a small access and can be easily missed.


 


Deer Lake State Park: Deer Lake is located 0.5 miles West of Prominence. While it is popular, there are a few things to keep in mind: There is a small parking area at the access (aprox. $3 for parking) Bathrooms are also available at the access. The walk from the parking area to the beach is a bit longer than most area accesses. IMPORTANT - Because this is a state park, and not a Walton County beach access, alcohol is not allowed. Beach service is not available at this location either.


 


Santa Clara: Santa Clara access is a Walton County, ADA approved, beach access located near Bramble Grove Road, about 3.5 miles to the west of Prominence. Parking and bathrooms are also available at the Santa Clara access.


 

Community Pool:

The Town of Prominence offers a 2 large resort style community pools! The New Prominence South Pool is located just steps from Sea Mist and features a stunning fire pit! The North Pool is over 5,000 sq ft and is just a short walk across 30A with cabanas, grills, bathhouse, and fitness center!

The community is great for young families, however there are not sidewalks throughout which makes it somewhat dangerous. There were two community grills and only one worked. Many families needed a grill so it was a fight to get the one working grill. There were not enough umbrellas or seating for the pools. As far as the rental property where we stayed, the bathtub was completely clogged. We asked multiple times each day for someone to come out to address the issue and it was never resolved. We asked for a broom to sweep the floors and never received one. The floors were filthy dirty. There was nowhere to hang wet beach items and it seemed like all other units did have something for this. I would consider another unit in the future with different rental management.

Great Weekend Trip
Stayed here with my brother and we thoroughly enjoyed the place, the location, and the access to bikes. The unit was clean and had all of the amenities we could have possibly needed. Communication was prompt and on demand, so nothing but great things to say about our experience.

We first got there and found ants in the bedroom and the kitchen. Not just one or two. Enough ants to see black groups on the counter. You couldn’t put anything down on the counter or ants would come to it. Even if it was a pack of gum, they would crawl in big groups to it. Then the golf cart had a flat tire that we were not aware of till after getting there. After they fixed that we got pulled over by the police because the rear lights were out on the golf cart. Finally, there was a snake in the lobby between the garage and front door that after we opened the doors to let it out crawled into a corner between the dry wall and foundation in the garage so somewhere in the house. We left and ended the trip two nights early and they didn’t even care and gave us a total of $65 dollars refund. Overall the lack of professionalism the management company had (Karli) at BeachWalk vacation had…. never again.

Beautiful Vacation
This was a great home to stay in. The house was very clean, updated, had a wonderful kitchen to cook in, beautiful neighborhood with many amenities, and close to everything. The only issue we had was the a/c. It worked great the first few days then got to 80 degrees one afternoon, so we called the property manager. They sent someone out and he was no happy to be there-he acted as if we were a huge inconvenience to him. He stayed a total of 3 minutes and didnt even tell us anything. Apparently, he didnt find anything so nothing got fixed. That night we had to call back and when they sent yet another repair man out, he was able to fix the problem. Needless to say, they need to do some research on who they send out to repair things- this could have been fixed the first time had he known what he was doing. This all to say the property was very nice and we loved all of it except this so we will be back next summer for sure!

This place is amazing!!
Perfect family trip. My family of 5 stayed here. We have two teens and one child. The place is extremely clean and well stocked. It is in a community with a ton of things to do from swimming to shopping, restaurants to planned activities. It comes with a golf cart and bikes and thus really made our trip so fun. We used the golf cart to get to three different beach accesses and to get coffee and pizza. I would highly recommend this place and we plan to go back.

Short Weekend Trip
Stayed 2 nights during “slow” season, which the stay and location easier to work with. Unit is new(er) and clean. Good location in between Rosemary/Alys and Seaside. Furnishings are pretty uncomfortable, especially the master bed. The militancy of the check-in/out time is a little lame. Nice place and some solid amenities but didn’t feel like the type of place that’d be a priority to revisit.

Property flaws
When we arrived the toilet seat was broken,2nd bedroom was to hot, toaster does not work unless you hold down lever, coffee maker not shown in pictures or listed in kitchen equipment. People should be aware that this is upstairs and steps are hard for some people. Other than these small things the stay was fabulous bed was very comfortable.

PROS: Prominence is an excellent location and neighborhood CONS: After check in: *Toilet lid broken, it never was replaced *Toilet was not cleaned properly, hairs under the lids 😝 *Top bunk bed was a sand box more than a bed..! They “cleaned it” twice…our kids never used it. *Chairs and couch in living room not comfortable at all. We couldn’t use the couch as bed because it was dirty…another sand box!!! *Very cheap coffee maker…management could invest more in a nice quality coffee maker. *I think management could invest more time and money on small things like the ones described above. Overall we understand all of it, I’m just trying to make a constructive review, this is a nice neighborhood surrounded by nice properties!!! We had great time still!!! We will come back to Prominence!!!

Comfortable and fresh decor and finishes
It’s a nice and well-kept property, and the golf cart is deluxe (XL compared to what else you’ll see in the area, seats 6 comfortably, more if you squeeze and riders are kids). It maintains its charge well and is in excellent condition. Also, we received three bikes with the rental, rather than two as described. Not sure if always the case, but was an unexpected bonus. The master is obviously for two people, and the bunk room has a full/double sized bunk, so though it could sleep four total, it would likely need to be young kids to accommodate 4 total sleepers. We had two teens use this room. Not sure if the sofa in front room pulls out (it may, we didn’t need/assess) for extra guests. For our purposes as a party of 4, the unit was right-sized for us space-wise. Also, staircase with landing to come and go from the unit, which was fine for us, but sharing for awareness. The rental company does only provide very limited household items (in the way of laundry pods, garbage bags, bath products) so be ready to supplement those if staying for a week. Some considerations for renters bringing car to their 30A stay: the garage bay is small and a single. If you want to alternate between your car for further restaurant distances, for instance, and golf cart for closer range driving around, you will have to be jockeying your car and the cart in and out of and between the garage space/driveway space because you can’t park anything on the street. Just something to be aware of. The porch is long and a very nice asset to the unit for morning coffee or a glass of wine (small table would be helpful, but is a great place to sit nonetheless). The area is wonderful and very appealing. The beaches are beautiful! We had friends staying in nearby beachfront venue, so we used their beach access, but I believe Prominence guests need to use public beach access points - via bike, trolley, or possibly golf cart if or where parking available at a given access point. Lovely area to which I would eagerly return :)

I would say that the owners need to sleep On all those beds for 1 night to see how bad quality they are! The pillows and the beds were so hard- I literally have to see a massage place to fix this. There is no coffee filters, if you provide a coffee pot- should provide some filters to go with them or replace to a coffee maker that allows for no disposable filters… Poop qualify shampoo or Conditioners supplied… for the rate of rental- should be decent quality. Other than those items above - it was good over all!

Amazing Vacation
We enjoyed a multi-generational family vacation. The property was very clean and the location was awesome. We loved having the bikes onsite and access to the HUB was fantastic, an easy walk for the senior members of our family. The property was well appointed with all amenities and check in was a breeze. Beautiful, clean, and comfortable!
I recently stayed here for a week with my husband and our two daughters (6 & 8 years old). We all had the very best time! The beach shuttle service was wonderful, the pool was superb, and the ocean was amazing! Clean, beautiful beaches, crystal clear blue water, and sunny skies made the trip even better! We enjoyed the easy walk/bike ride to the HUB, but also rode in to other towns on our bikes. The location was just perfect. The home exceeded our expectations, and we are so grateful for our comfortable stay. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Perfect location!
The location of this property if perfect, especially if you have young children. The beach access in not the best. There is a beach shuttle that runs only Memorial Day - Labor Day. Our visit was in March. Having the bikes to use was great but would be difficult for a family with small children. Be prepared to purchase/bring laundry detergent, garbage bags and kitchen linens. I was very surprised that we were only given 2 garbage bags for a week stay. Especially when all garbage must be bagged. Only one dish cloth and one kitchen towel were made available . Other than that we loved the staying here.

We had a delightful time staying here and loved how close this property is to everything! Best food ever at Macho Taco, Seagrove Village Market Cafe, and Beachy Bean! Loved quick access to the State Park and many local public beach accesses. The pool was phenomenal! Everything was clean and comfortable!
