Welcome to Captain Jake’s Beachfront Condo at Tidewater Beach Resort! The Captain was an intrepid seafarer from the days of legendary sailing ships, and this home is infused with his adventurous spirit. You never know where you might spot a pirate or a mermaid, or even a 1930s movie star famous for his swashbuckling roles.

The 1,865 sq. ft. home has three bedrooms and three full baths—two of them en suites—and comfortably sleeps 8 in real beds. (There is now a new queen size sleeper sofa in the living room as well)

The Master & Commander’s cabin (‘room’ to landlubbers) features Luxurious King Bed; a 46-inch flat panel TV with DVD player; a cozy window nook overlooking the Gulf that’s perfect for a quiet escape with a good book; and a sliding glass door onto the beachfront deck. The en suite bathroom has double sinks mounted in a granite counter top; the dreamy soaking tub facing an electric fireplace (especially nice because you can enjoy the flames while tailoring the heat up or down to match your mood and the weather); a separate shower; and a walk-in closet.

The First Mate’s cabin is also an en suite, with its own private bathroom with a granite counter top vanity and a shower over the tub. It also has a luxurious king bed and a 32-inch flat panel TV with DVD player.

The Crew Cabin features a queen bed that can sleep two and a set of bunk beds that sleeps two, as well as a 32-inch flat panel TV with a DVD player. It’s right next to the third bathroom, which has a granite counter top vanity and a shower over the tub, plus a generously proportioned top-of-the-line washer and dryer set that’s ideal for handling beach towels, softball uniforms,
The kitchen—or as the Captain would insist, galley—seats four at the granite breakfast bar and up to eight at the dining table. It boasts new state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances, including a range with multiple stove top settings, a warming center, double convection ovens, and a warming drawer; a refrigerator with ice and chilled water service; and a large microwave. If you like to cook, you’ll be in heaven! If you don’t, or you just want a break from kitchen duty, there are dozens of fabulous eateries within walking distance.

The living room features gorgeous Gulf views from the sliding glass door that opens onto the deck, comfy sofas, the aforementioned 55-inch HD-TV with Blu-Ray/DVD player, and books, magazines, movies, and board games. There’s also free WiFi.

The property was pleasant. Good location. If you plan on staying here with children or elderly people, opt for a ground floor. The elevator is very slow. Not enough elevators for the amount of rooms. 30 floors. overall not a bad place.

It was wonderful!
We were very pleased with the space and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was great! I would recommend that the toilet leak where the washing machine is be fixed, the refrigerator had a broken/cracked shelf and one of the big cushions in the couch was ripped. But none of these things affected our wonderful stay. Thank you! We will love to come back next year.

We absolutely enjoyed the property. The condo was accommodated with everything we needed. The vacuum, broom, and mop was available to clean up spills from our small children. Previous condos we’ve stayed in, they were not available. Right across the hall there were beach and pool supplies for all ages, we were so amazed at then variety of toys, floats, chairs and umbrellas available. The room itself was cozy with the pirate and mermaid theme. We had family game night every night with the board games and cards that were already available for us to enjoy. We hated the elevators, there was a 30 minute wait to load and unload. Other than that, we loved everything.

Yes the elevator stinks during check in and check out times. It’s not AS BAD during other hours. If you can deal with that, the place is beautiful. Multiple pools and hot tubs are awesome. Tiki bar at the pool - awesome. Just a lovely, relaxing vacation. Highly recommend.

Elevator beware!!!!
The unit itself was as described. Decorated with cute pirate themed boats pictures and other decorations. One bathroom had a leaking bathtub faucet. We called and someone came the next day to look at it. Unfortunately it never waa fixed and it was obnoxious to listen too the entire time we were there. They provide floats, boogie boards, umbrella and other beach toys. The view is beautiful, the high table and chairs on the balcony are a nice touch. Now let me say the things I wish i knew before staying there. Rhe elevator situation is awful. There is no rhyme or reason to what direction they go. You will spend half of your time waiting on elevators. When it comes time to check in you have to park across the street in the parking garage and haul all of your belongings across a skywalk and that is if you are lucky enough to park on the 2 nd floor of the garage and walk right across. Otherwise you are waiting for ONE working elevator to take you to the 2nd floor. Only to check in and wait forever for another elevator. Granted there are multiple elevators in the actual resort but you will still be waiting, always. We enjoyed the condo but I wish someone would have explained the elevator thing more clearly. In regards to the beach I was disappointed. There was trash everywhere, to the point when I went out in the morning to claim our spot I would take a trash bag to pick up trash around the area we would be at. If you don’t get out there early to the beach you will be either walking through a sea of people to get to the water ot you will have to walk a ways in soft sand to get something close to the water. If you have small children this is not ideal. We will not be going back. Not because of the condo. The condo was lovely. Unfortunately everything else surrounding it.

Awesome Condo - Horrible Elevators
We loved this condo! Every amenities were at our fingertips. There was this mysterious key that we had no idea what it went to. On day 5 we found a locked caged unit in the stairwell that belonged to the condo! It was full of beach stuff! Awesome find! Our biggest complaint was the ELEVATORS!!!!!! Yes, we were warned of this issue but OMG, they were horrible. Plan on an additional 15-20 minutes if you plan on using them. The parking garage was never an issue. It's great! While we were there, PCB were in the middle of road construction...not the condos fault, but was still an issue.

Lovely place . Very roomy and cleaned . Definitely would recommend it for a family of 10 like us cause it’s definitely spacious . Lose to all the restaurant and literally walking distance to pier park . Loved it but the elevators were a nightmare for being slow

Condo was as described. The elevators were horrible. We learned by the end of the week to jump on any elevator whether it was going up or down. The weather was beautiful and our family enjoyed the stay. Would recommend to other families.

We enjoyed our accommodations very much—spacious, well-laid out, nicely appointed. Being right on the beach and enjoying the views were huge pluses. We made it a family event to pause and soak the magnificent sunsets every day. Although it is not the owner’s fault at all, we found that many of the Tidewater’s employees needed to be reminded that they work in the hospitality industry—friendly, gracious and helpful would go a long way to make guests want to return. To the owner, a few upgrades in cookware would be appreciated. Overall, we loved our time in 2002z

Everything about our stay at Tide Water Resort was wonderful. I couldn't have asked for more. That being said, they had multiple elevators out of service and it could take 10 to 20 minutes to get in one .

The Condo was amazing BUT...
The communication prior to check-in was great and very detailed. Check-in was chaos with people everywhere. I recommend requesting an early check-in time or wait until 6-7pm after the rush. The rolling luggage carts have to be checked out by leaving your ID. There were none available and I had to wait in line for 20 minutes to get one. Then it took another 45 minutes to get to the 20th floor because the elevators were packed with lines of people waiting. The elevators remained an issue the entire stay. My legs are still sore as I type this from walking down 20 flights of stairs about 10-12 times. The condo itself (#2002) was SO nice. Very well maintained and well appointed. I have ZERO complaints about the condo. This particular condo includes use of a beach chairs with umbrella which is a huge bonus. Just go down early and sign up for one because the front row goes fast. All in all it was a great vacation and I would definitely stay there again but wish they could figure out how to streamline check-in and somehow make the elevators more efficient.

The condo was really nice and comfortable, the beach was beautiful, water was warm, and it was a great location. Many memories made. The only drawback was the elevators. Waited for 30 minutes sometimes. The elevators seemed to put most of the other guests in a bad mood as well.
