The photos were extremely deceptive, the smell was horrible even though they claim no smoking permitted, and walls were not sound proof. The room was extremely dirty and didn’t look anything like the photos on Expedia. Bedding was cheap quality and had holes and there was a large mirror over the headboard with no way to confirm it was simply a mirror or a one way window to the adjacent room. Overall, we didn’t feel safe and found another hotel within an hour and checked out. Hotel owner refused to refund the 3 day hotel expense even though we didn’t even stay there. STAY AWAY!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE WITH CREEPY VIBES. Your closet is a cloth curtain with one or two wooden shelves and a mini fridge at the bottom. We booked a deluxe room and it looked nothing like a deluxe room. Expedia offers no guarantee so stay away from booking through Expedia as well. Highly recommend checking Google and TikTok first. If it’s not on TikTok, no one good is staying there! Other people ended up having the same complaints as myself and one person even mentioned they have evidence of bed bugs!!! JUSSTT RUUNN and thank me later for saving your money!!!

I did not like this hotel and would not recommend it. It is not like it looks in the pictures. It is tiny (even for Paris) and not very updated looks rundown. The service is not good. Sheets on my bed had a blood stain and tip and it was not replaced. There are many other places in this area that are much better for slightly more money.

The property is old and a bit run down, there were tears in wallpaper, and scratches and dents in things, room was super tiny… just enough to walk around the bed, there was hair on the ceiling in the bathroom when we got there and it never left- the shower leaked, and we asked for extra towels so that we could try and contain the water and they said no. Air conditioning didn’t work- and weirdest thing was they would only give us one key- and anytime you left you had to leave your key at the front desk- they said it was so they would know when to clean the room but I found it strange and have never had a hotel ask for the keys back when you’re leaving for a few hours / few minutes during your stay… On a plus side the view was nice (which was why I picked this place) and very close to metro stations- would recommend if you get a good deal (which we did)

Great location for short stays next to metro and Arc de Triomphe. Clean and as far as I know, no bugs. Too tiny for long stays, max 2 nights. No door to the toilet etc and quite tiny. Because of the location, it's quite expensive for what it is.

I loved this hotel! It was quiet and my room was exactly what I wanted with a comfortable bed and balcony with a lovely view. The building is older and shows some wear and tear, but the it was clean and well cared for. It was super convenient to the metro and an easy stroll to the river and plenty of iconic sights. I was traveling solo so I was very comfortable, but if I’d been sharing this room, it would have been VERY cozy. It was perfect for me though!

HONEST REVIEW OF HOTEL STELLA ETOILE: A CAUTIONARY TALE** Positives: The hotel is clean and near the Arc de Triomphe. Most of the staff are friendly. Negatives: This hotel is full of restrictions that make it feel like a strict dormitory. First, you only get one room key, which has to be given to the front desk each time you leave. You can’t access your room without retrieving it, and it feels like they’re tracking you. I’ve never seen this policy in any other hotel. The no-visitors rule was particularly frustrating. My aunt, who was waiting for her husband’s delayed flight, came to see me. She left her purse in my room, and when she returned to get it, the staff became suspicious. They told her that visitors weren’t allowed and gave her 30 minutes to gather her belongings and leave, even though she was visibly upset. When I questioned the staff, they claimed my aunt's earlier visit seemed “suspicious.” I tried to explain that she was waiting to check in to her own nearby hotel, even showing them her room key, but they didn’t budge. The breakfast was also disappointing. It seemed microwaved, and they didn’t even have a way to warm a croissant. Save your money unless you’re okay with a toaster breakfast. Overall, the hotel’s strict policies made our stay uncomfortable. This was my first trip to Paris, solely to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Thankfully, she enjoyed the beautiful city—a small comfort during an otherwise frustrating experience.

The staff were very friendly. They stored our luggage until the room was ready. They recommended a lovely restaurant at the corner for a quick meal. The location was perfect. We had a view of the Arc de Triomphe from the balcony. The Metro was a quick 2 minute walk. There is a pharmacy and laundromat nearby. The room was very small, but we only needed room to sleep. No complaints about anything! If I go back to Paris, I will stay here again.
