Bay House is a Victorian gentleman's residence a mile from the beach overlooking its own private valley of 3 acres of subtropical gardens near Bolingey, Perranporth. It comfortably sleeps 10 in 5 large double bedrooms and has elegant rooms for entertaining.
Wake up to birdsong, breakfast with fresh eggs, and sunbathe in the gardens. Stroll to Bolingey Inn, walk the coast path or surf Perranporth's beach just a mile away. Relax with sundowners & a BBQ on the panoramic south-facing sun terrace.
Bay House is a beautiful period house, perfect for families and friends with plenty of space to entertain and relax.
It's a wonderful home from home for families just 1 mile from Perranporth's fabulous beach, which has 3miles of golden sands, great surfing, lifeguards, beach bar, and dog-friendly attitude.
Bay House has three acres of secure garden to explore: there's a secret path through the woods, swings in the trees, a 12ft trampoline, football goal, and plenty of spots for hide and seek and den building. Cycle or walk down a green lane as a shortcut to the Bolingey Inn, which is about half a mile and serves fab food. For the adventurous, Perranporth is one of Cornwall's best surfing beaches, with plenty of rockpools and a low tide saltwater swimming pool for the children.
Bay House is a fabulous house for entertaining: light the fires in the library or sitting rooms for a cosy evening in (there's a wood stack and a wood full of pine cones to forage). Enjoy a BBQ or sundowner on our panoramic sun terrace: our patio furniture seats 10. The enormous sofa (a John Sankey Mitford Lounger) fits most of the family and is perfect for putting your feet up at the end of a busy day. Our kitchen has everything you need - and there's plenty of cooking, baking and serving equipment, china and cutlery.
Bay House is a relaxing space to unwind: doze under the apple blossom, or sit on the terrace & enjoy the garden which contains many specimen plants planted over the last 100 years. The birdsong in the morning is exquisite. It's location is a dream for walkers, runners and cyclists and we'd be delighted to recommend our favourite routes. There's a nearby stables which offers beach and pub rides, and many places in Perranporth to hire surf boards, body boards, SUPs (stand up paddle boards) or kayaks, or take lessons.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Our cockerel & hens love to roam in the garden as they are terribly social and can be hand fed.

Perranporth's is a vibrant village with a good range of services. There is a well-stocked Co-Op and plenty of dining out options. We love The Massala Indian restaurant in Perranporth - The Bolingey Inn has great food (you need to book) and ditto The Miners Arms in Mithian, and The Tap House, Taste, & The Driftwood Spas in St Agnes (all within 3 miles).
The beach is a gentle 15 to 20 minute stroll along our new off road cycling track, or the country lane (or 5 minutes in the car) - perfect for a vintage style cream tea overlooking the sea at The Seiners Arms or watching the sunset with a sundowner at The Watering Hole.
If you fancy a walk in the country, we suggest a stroll to the Bolingey Inn (1/2 mile), or for the hardier, a 3 mile route up Cocks Hill to Callestick Farm to try their award winning ice-cream and meet their dairy herd, and on to Healey's Cider Farm for a refreshing pint of Cornish Rattler. On the way, spot our neighbour's lamas at Lama Lodge, and visit the beautiful parish church of St Piran at the top of the hill. (go straight across at the cross roads by the church to Callestick).
A cream tea will be waiting for you on arrival so you can put your feet up the minute you arrive. We also provide essentials like hand wash soap, washing up liquid and cloths, tea towels, loo rolls on arrival, black sacks, dishwasher tabs, washing powder.
We provide all linen, hand and shower towels and bath mats. Please do bring beach towels.
Information for Families
Perranporth beach has two full RNLI lifeguard cover stations from Easter til 1st November. Lifeguards patrol the main swimming and surfing areas to advise on beach safety.
Information for Dog Owners
Perranporth celebrates one of the few beaches in Cornwall on which dogs are allowed all through the year, even in the summer holidays. Our modest restriction is only in July and August between 10am and 5pm, during which time dogs are requested to be kept on leads when exercised on the first 1/4 mile of sand. You are still welcome to exercise dogs freely before 10am and after 5pm in this area. This leaves more than 2miles of beach as well as the huge dune area behind the beach, on which they can exercise freely at all times of the day and year. As dog owners and parents of young children, we've found these arrangements work really well (especially as our pointer Horace is not averse to helping himself to people's picnic hampers when off the lead). There are footpaths with huge areas of grassland to the north and south of the beach - we also recommend the huge area behind the sand dunes to the lost church which has great dog walking and fabulous views. We highly recommend Perranporth to dog owners for a vacation for these reasons.
