The room and B&B/pub more generally were absolutely lovely. This was booked as a last minute, budget friendly place to stay during a very busy time, and it’s hard to emphasise how pleasantly surprised I was. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, breakfast (I just had continental but the hot looked lovely to) was right on the money and the whole stay was a really lovely oasis in what was a very stressful time. Thank you to everyone who looked after me!
This place is a gem of a find. It beats corporate hotel chains hands down. Great room, perfect setting, and wonderful food. I will definitely be coming back.
Our room was comfortable. Nothing fancy. We were travelling in a group of 5 and our room was very large and gave us plenty of space. The breakfast we had was delicious and most of the staff were very welcoming and friendly.

The staff are really friendly but not necessarily the quickest service. They absolutely love animals and spoilt our dog.
The accommodation was comfortable and roomy, just needs a lick of paint, new carpet and curtains. The carpet on arrival was wet by the door? The food in the restaurant was amazing.
Had a very nice dinner and a very nice breakfast. the food might tempt me back.
I felt the hotel was letting it self down by not keeping up with general maintenance. Door handles were getting loose, there were broken shelves and a broken blind in the room. The staff were very welcoming, but lacked knowledge.

Lovely location.
But tired and in need of updating in the bedroom. We had a family room located in what looked like a corridor but was an old games room.
No tea spoons or enough cups or teas and coffees.
Loads of black hairs in bed and bathroom.
Dust and grime in the bathroom.
Attention to detail was lacking.
Had dinner and although my dinner was lovely (Wagyu beefburger) my daughters fish was really greasy and we ordered a vegan Moroccan butternut squash which had a hair in it and was well overpriced for what was on the plate so we sent it back and refused to pay for it. £16.
The waiter did apologise though.
Don’t think we will stay again.

Liked: Room comfort
OK stay and reasonable value
TV didn't work in the room. Bed was comfortable. No WiFi and 4G patchy so don't rely on Internet connection although WiFi in the restaurant is available. Room was OK but a bit noisy from next door coming and going to after 11pm and could hear their (working) TV and voices through the door. I had a cooked breakfast in the morning which was lovely and well presented and very tasty. Definitely a highlight. It is situated on a nice canal area worth a wander along. I tried this place on a whim for something different but will stick with brands I know in future.

Uncomfortable night
The food in the restaurant was very good indeed.
My room (number 5) wasn't so good though. Bright lights shone through the door curtain all night. There was no window in the room, only the glassed door. So the only ventilation was through the extractor fan in the bathroom or an air-conditioning unit which didn't appear to work. So the room felt damp, especially after having a shower, it smelled damp. It was just a very uncomfortable night, heightened by the fact that it was raining heavily in the morning which meant the door couldn't be left open for a while.
