Bavarian Vacation Hideaway #5

Nestled at the foot of the Bavarian alps in Ostallgäu, in the not-too-touristy town of Pfronten just minutes from Füssen and King Ludwig's famed Schloss Neuschwanstein, lies the Allgäuer Appartementhaus. The light-filled studio apartment #5 with a queen and bunk beds sleeps four and has a perfect mini kitchen for preparing light meals. A large flower-bedecked balcony furnished with a chaise longue, and table and chairs, overlooks the town to the landmark St. Nikolaus church and the mountains beyond. Hiking/biking and cross-country ski trails are just out the door and restaurants, beer gardens, cafés, bakeries, and wonderful shopping abound just minutes away by foot. The gondola to take you up the Breitenberg for alpine skiing is five minutes away; local lakes offer swimming areas, boat rentals, and day trips on the water. There is a sunny terrace for sun-bathing or enjoying a picnic or refreshing drink, a large sauna area, and a ski-room.
During your stay at this apartment building, you'll be within walking distance of Alpenbad Pfronten. A kitchen and a balcony are available in the apartment.
  • The apartment offers a kitchen, a balcony and a living room
  • On-site recreation includes a sauna
  • 10 minutes by car from Hopfensee and 11 minutes from Forggensee
As a guest of Bavarian Vacation Hideaway #5, you'll find a sauna and barbecue grills. The front desk is open around the clock.

This Pfronten apartment is smoke free.

Not a two bedroom…..a two room place.
The setting lovely and near grocery stores and nice walks. The unit it self is not meant for four people. The bunk beds are in the kitchen and near the front door which is not a good location for kids. It is so tiny two people can not work in the kitchen together. The bathroom was the best room in the unit for the description. The other bed is a Murphy bed so it takes up most of the living room. Not much room for luggage. You can’t fit four people around the kitchen table which is crammed in one corner of the living room. It was disappointing and very tight for four people. Also just leaving two rolls of toilet paper for a family of four for five days is rather cheap. Also no salt and pepper or any sugar packets. Really not a well stocked place. The book or recommendations really needs updating because the pool it mentions is overgrown and not useable, either is the sauna it claims to have or half of the information regarding the restaurants. Also no bbq as stated in the write up. We were so looking forward to this location and out of our three week German vacation it was the most disappointing. This place should be only for two people. The city passes that you are suppose to get are for the local buses but you have to drive to the next town 20 mins away to pick them up if you can find the place. Never used them….can’t even say I saw a city bus. Someone really needs to check on these place more often and their write ups because a Murphy bed is not a bedroom.

Wonderful stay!
The apartment was clean, tastefully decorated, and bigger than the photos. The balcony was perfect and we had a lovely view! We REALLY appreciated the black folder with recommendations. We were given Pfronten cards which gave us free access to public transportation and discounts for the gondola (totally worth it on a clear day) and nearby pool. The pool (2 driveways up the hill) was refreshing and I’m sure it was quite popular back when it was fully functioning. The apartment had plenty of parking, easy check in with the lock box, and great communication. The grocery is a couple of blocks away. You may want to bring your own soap and paper towel. Thank you!

The perfect small village experience
If your looking for a sweet, friendly place to stay while you check out the Alps, this is a great place to stay and relax. Everything you'd need is walking distance, it's beautiful and quiet.

Beautiful little apartment and great location
Loved the apartment and the location. Murphy bed in the living, dining room area, bunk bed in the small kitchen area. Nice bathroom. Great deck, gorgeous views. The Apartment house was beautiful, on every patio were planters of geraniums, loved the flowers in the landscaping. Our family are flower people! Very accommodating, we had to contact the Housemaster several times, he was very helpful. Before our stay, we contacted the owner, she was very quick and patient, answering all our many questions. Short walk to grocery store, and alittle farther downtown are all sorts of shops, one of our favorite places Braugasthof Falkenstein. Great food and beer. We would definitely go back there!

Quiet and scenic with unbelievable views
This Hideaway getaway is the perfect opportunity for people looking to experience the natural beauty and history of Bavaria. We went as a family of 4 - two children. Our plan was to hike, swim, bike and otherwise relax. This place met all our expectations. They even have a "game room" with ping pong table & a small sauna and the "local" pool is just at the top of the hill above the apartment. The rooms were comfortable and accommodated the four of us. The separation door even provided privacy from the kids when necessary. Gretchen communicates very well with expectations and activity suggestions before-hand. I recommend her favorite local restaurants & the V -Mart was more than enough to pick up other necessities: we got water, fresh rolls for every morning, and meat for our patio grill one night. The area card you receive is very convenient. It allows discounts around - we used it for discounted pool access and local castles. I have to caution readers that this location is best accessed by private car. Without one it is very difficult to go far, but once you get here, local activities, restaurants, and markets are all within walking/biking distances. They also have a very reliable bus service nearby which does accommodate most directions... Overall I would go back just to relax at the pool or on the apartment balcony - just to feel the wind and stare at the rolling peaks and pastures!

Empfehlenswert
