I am from Knoxville, so staying at a hotel is often not enjoyable since we could simply drive home in 30 minutes. However, this place is different and changed our perspective about hotels in PF/Gatlinburg. The manager at the front dest was the best I have ever experienced. All smiles. Always present. Very classy. From check-in to check-out, our stay was the best we have ever had in PF/Gatlinburg. A 5 stars and the win! Pro tip = If you have kids under 14 years old, this is a premier destination. We will be back often.

It is a lovely place to take children to have a good time. I did not like how the indoor slides were closed all but one day while we were there. And some of the activities could be more upbeat even during the slow season.

This is our second stay. We really enjoy staying at Country Cascades. I recommend the bunk room. We tried the 2 king suite this trip but prefer the bunk room.

Our room was next door to the main unit including the Waterpark. So we had to go outside then back inside to reach the swim/Waterpark area, which was inconvenient. But overall, the hotel was nice and staff were helpful.

Overall, we really enjoy the Country Cascades. The indoor “waterpark” and large pool and warming pool make it a strong contender in the cooler months like The Resort and Wilderness. I’m not a fan of the rooms bathroom layouts (very small) and lack of microwave. The Summit tower is detached from the other buildings which means you have to walk across the parking lot to access the pools and other amenities. That being said, the access to the amenities is poorly laid out as a whole in my opinion as well. You have to walk in front of the resorts main entrance to get to the pools. This leaving you exposed- in your bathing suits- to the elements and other patrons entering the resort, water in the main entry floor, and often a traffic jam of people checking in/out and those who are coming/leaving the pools. It’s mind blowing how they probably paid a fortune for a designer and /or engineer to create the terrible blueprint that they have. the Resort at GC has a much better design and accessibility to amenities IMO.

Could have been excellent.
The hotel was very clean. Sheets had holes in them. On our last night we went to the arcade. The bowling alleys were closed early. The young man who was working the arcade was very rude when he told us they were closing and we needed to leave. I said ok can we trade in the tickets for their prizes , he then asked if we could do it the next day. I explained that was our last night. He was very rude but did allow us to cash the tickets in.

Overall great value for the money- we felt the room was nice, great option to have double bunk beds. A few things we wish- a microwave in the room and more pool tubes/mats at the water park. There was a lot of waiting around for those. Cute hotel though and the bowling was a lot of fun.
