What's not to like? Paulo and Julio at the La Isla bar were fantastic and fun! Our room steward was like a NINJA--in and out so quickly, but the room was always clean and ready for whichever time of day we were there. Lu the hostess at the breakfast buffet and the cabana pool restaurant was service with a smile! The "kids" we traveled with were able to spend the day at the water park and came back to the Royale for the adult portion of the vacation. The only negatives we incurred were that my adult children (didn't have the same room steward due to being in their own room), had money missing from their wallets. The dinner reservations were difficult to get with the resort being so crowded due to the holiday--because of that the room service wait was long. All in all was a FANTASTIC experience and we didn't even touch HALF of what was offered.

The food was great - regardless of what restaurant you were in. The room was clean and well maintained. Balcony was a good size. Bed was comfortable. We’re not beach people so not an issue for us - but - the beach along the property was not good. Lots of rocks, very choppy water and these hideous boulders in the water to prevent erosion of the small beach area. Overall we would go back for sure because the resort (beach excluded) was great!

We loved walking the grounds and hanging at the pool. Staff at the Spot restaurant were attentive and Benjamin the bartender at the pool was awesome! Best bartender we had all week. The grounds were beautiful and they were always working on the property to keep it clean. The food was good, especially liked breakfast. The only issue we had was room service took about 2 hours. We met so many people that come back again and again. We hope to be back soon!

We had a great stay at El Dorado Royale! We felt welcome and accommodated from the moment we arrived. The property is very large but we never had to wait long to catch a golf cart and the staff were always amazing and helpful. Definitely recommend booking excursions and dinners immediately upon arrival but the app made this very straightforward. Only complaint would be room service took 1-2 hours each time we ordered, so I would recommend trying to eat at restaurants and use this as a last resort. There was a number of fun activities and shows planned for each day and lots of options for pools/the beach to relax at during the day. Overall a great vacation and looking forward to visiting again!

Beautiful quiet retreat like property. Many eating options. They offer transportation to and from airport at no charge. They also include day trips at no charge. Hotel beach is ok but they can take you to Maroma Beach at NC. Swim up rooms look great but even though i booked one; i didn’t get one. Employees very friendly. Cabanas available everyday at NC and I was able to get one everyday.

Wow! What a wonderful experience. My friends and I stayed at El Dorado Royale for NYE. Everyone was so hospitable, the resort was exceptionally clean and beautiful, every detail was taken into consideration! Our room was well stocked and maintained during our stay. We had a swim up room and our bartender, Fernanda, made our trip so special! She’s the absolute best and we will miss her! The dining options were awesome, such a wide range even for room service. No complaints for us :)

Staff were terrible. Concierge booked us for dinners when restaurants were closed and the resort tried to charge us for it. We were told about all the free excursions, airport transfers, etc. we were entitled to once we were checking out. Overall I will never stay here or any other resort owned by this group again.

The only negative to this property is that it is so big you need a shuttle and they are hard to come by. Plan to wait at least half an hour at dinner times to get to your reservation. Other than that the property is amazing, the meals were fantastic, the rooms were large and the room was well air conditioned!

The place was beautiful! No beach to go in unless you go to maroma. The staff could be nicer, some of them would make some sort of face to you. And the carts could be a bit more consistent

Front desk staff inconsistent with communications.. nobody sent the message to get our bags .. had to recheck with conciege after wating 1/2 hr after our 1230 pm appt. for the bell boy to come
