A 3rd party food prep and sanitation company needs to be consulted to overhaul processes and employee behaviors regarding all matters dealing with food. My daughter and I were both stricken with food poisoning and she was hit twice - days apart. Not once did I see any employees disinfect any surfaces the entire 9 days we were on the property. This includes the areas the food was served from to the tables where we consumed the food. I never saw any worker wear gloves when restocking the buffets or working any griddles/grilles. We spoke with other hotel guests and many people were battling food poisoning as well. We have been to Mexico 6 times in the last 18 months and this is the only property we've battled food sanitation issues. The rest of the property and facilities were very nice and the employees were great. I own multiple customer service oriented businesses which is why I didn't give all 1 star ratings because that isn't fair. Please correct the food sanitation issues and we'd be willing to give it another shot.

Resort was fine. The room was out dated but otherwise was fine. Clean but not clean clean if that makes sense. Don’t think lamp shades have ever been dusted or head boards. My son found a shirt and socks in his top bunk bed. Buffets were meh, but the a la cartes were really good! Staff was friendly and nice. Wish they had more towel huts, felt like they were far and few between. Beach was my favourite part, very clean and pretty. Lots of space and seating options.

As far as the VIP access hotel they were all the same so we really didn’t notice anything VIP. besides that the resort was beautiful, clean and very easy to get around. I am a picky eater and I was able to eat more foods here than other resort’s.

Very large resort, meant a lot of walking. Food was ok, but not spectacular. 2 of the a la cartes were quite good. The rest were not to expectations. Service was lower than previous trips, other resorts. (Although I have heard that is the case everywhere). A ton of wild life, which was nice to see, but they were constantly getting into the garbage.

Review of Grand Riviera Princess Hotel Our recent stay at the Grand Riviera Princess Hotel was a mixed experience. While there are some highlights, the resort clearly needs significant upgrades and renovations to reach its full potential. Pros: • Beach: The beach was stunning and well-maintained, making it one of the standout features of our stay. • Staff: The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to assist us. Their warm and accommodating nature made us feel welcome. • Grounds: The hotel grounds are massive and beautifully landscaped. We enjoyed exploring the expansive property, which provided plenty of space to walk and relax. Cons: • Lobby Area: The lobby, including its pools and fountains, is in need of serious upgrades. It lacks the grandeur one would expect from a resort of this caliber. • Restaurants: The dining experience was underwhelming. The restaurants felt dull, and the food quality was not great, leaving us disappointed at mealtimes. • Wildlife Concerns: The resort needs to replace its garbage bins with animal-protected options to reduce wildlife attraction. This is a small change that could make a big difference in maintaining the natural balance. • Rooms: The rooms are outdated and in desperate need of renovations. A refresh would greatly enhance the overall guest experience. • Entertainment: The shows were better during our previous visits. This time, they felt lackluster and uninspired, which was a letdown.
