We decided to stay at the "Restaurant" Le Cardinal after a very long day at the Amiens flea market. We wanted to escape the crowds and go to a hotel with a restaurant attached, away from the city.
On arrival, the hotel / restaurant was locked. A telephone number was on the door to contact the proprietor - (Which was not the same as the contact given through Hotels.com). I was let in by another guest who was staying there and the proprietor / Manager turned up about 10 minutes later.
We were told that the restaurant was closed as it was "off season" - (Not mentioned at all in the booking forms). The room we had been allocated was at the back of the hotel. The bed was comfortable enough, as was the cleanliness of the room and bathroom, but that was it. No coffee or tea making facilities, no drinks available - at all - so after a shower, we went to a local restaurant (The only one open at that time) and had a meal there. We were offered breakfast at our point of departure, at a supplement of €9 p/head.. We declined and went to the local Boulanger and bought croissants and baguette, which we ate later at a cafe down the road. Overall, a very poor experience.
