The room we were in was spacious, reasonably clean but could do with a proper big clean and I feel it will be a cold place in winter. Rooms aren't soundproof at all and even though we were on the top level of the hotel could still easily hear noise from the street. This hotel is right in the middle of Porirua, one would think it's convenient but it actually wasn't. At arrival you first need to call a number and then wait outside rain or shine in order for someone to come and get you. I understand why they do so but this could be solved by e.g. giving the guests a code that unlocks the door or similar. The lift did not have a nice smell and the carpet in there is disgusting. At check in we got given a room that was already taken so we had to get back down to reception to get another room sorted. Which is ok, can happen.
Parking is at the back of the hotel and there's a back entrance, I don't think though that the back entrance can be used prior to check in.
