A-Bear's Anchor is close to the beach and has beautiful view of the Gulf of Mexico from the large inviting deck. You'll find ample deck furniture to sit and enjoy the sea breeze and the sound of the waves.

Walk inside to a spacious living room with a wrap-around sofa and large flat-screen TV with satellite television. The room is open to a spacious dining area - the table has seating for 8 and the kitchen has a long bar with additional seating. You'll enjoy the well-stocked kitchen with plenty of room for food preparation and entertaining. All modern appliances include microwave, dishwasher, regular drip coffee maker, blender, and washer/dryer. There is also high speed internet available for your convenience.

This home sleeps 12 comfortably, with two bedrooms each on either side of the common room, and a full large bath separating each set of bedrooms. Three of the bedrooms have one king bed in each. The children will love the fourth bedroom, a pirate-themed bunk room with bunk beds for six!

The downstairs area is perfect for grilling (charcoal grill included) and relaxing after a day just minutes away at the beach.

Small dogs (35 pounds or less) allowed with a pet fee. All Swedes Real Estate vacation rentals are non-smoking properties. Swedes does not rent to guests under 25 years of age.
The homeowner does not provide linens and towels, but, if you choose, they are available upon request from our linen service (additional fee applies).

Very disappointed… worst VRBO ever
We chose this because of the location and size, and both of those were fine. The property was clean on the inside, but was full of trash on the ground. That’s where it stops.First of all, I’ve never had to pay for linens or had to bring my own. I accidentally booked for an extra day and asked to shorten our trip in plenty of time, but they were unwilling to work with us and change the reservation. When they say bring paper goods, I guess that means trash bags also. We got one and it had a hole in it so when we took it out, it got all over the floor. Everyone was right,, the door lock was tough, maybe some instructions for the property would have been helpful, like working tvs, door lock and whatnot. When we arrived the dishwasher was unplugged and the water hose was laying on the floor and leaking water. I tried to use the sink and there was no water. The stove didn’t work either so I called the property management company and they could get to us until the next morning which was Thanksgiving, so there was no prepping for us. That’s when we got the explanation about the door lock.

Property Management co. vs rental itself
Based on previous reviews, we had higher expectations for our stay. Overall, the location and house itself was as described and we enjoyed getting away for the weekend. Every year our family visits Crystal Beach on Mother's Day weekend. Our concerns lay mostly with the management company. Immediately after booking, received an email from Swede's Real Estate asking if we were interested in adding on linens. We paid the $125 and had the expectation of towels being put away in cabinets and sheets on beds. To our surprise, we walked into the house to bags full of folded towels, wash clothes, and saran wrapped sheets/pillow cases laying in middle of the living room floor. Had we of known we would be making our beds and putting away laundry, we would have saved the $125 and brought our own linens. That's the last thing any of us Mother's wanted to do on Mother's Day weekend. It's not the end of the world, but also not ideal or a great experience. A few other things to note, the carpet in the bedrooms could be replaced, be sure to bring your own toilet paper (I don't know why we thought this would also be included in the linens fee ugh) it was also really hard to lock the front door with the key provided. There were a few small other things but not that important to list here. I also never received any check-in instructions on the day of arrival. Not through email or through the app. I'll leave it at that!

Bittersweet
Beautiful Property, great location, comfy beds and furnishings. Loved that the street is only beach accessed by walking, golf cart or atv. Great views. I spent alot of time cleaning. Urine ALL over the house, and the house just not cleaned. I wont list it all. We had one minor issue early in the week, we called, and they didn't come. Overall would still do it again.

Good location, property not so much
Very close to the beach within walking distance. However, the house smelled terrible and the key locks did not work. The furniture was broken and shower had awful water pressure. If you wanna stay close to beach, take your risk here. Otherwise, be surrounded by mosquitos and a run down house.

Beautiful place
Loved the property, great location and home was clean. Two issues, mattress protectors were stained and had black hair caught in them & we brought charcoal to grill but there was no functioning grill only broken rusted pieces. We purchased an Old Smokey at The Big Store and grilled. Other than those easily fixed issues, the place was wonderful! Check in and out ladies were very nice!

Good but underwhelming
To start, we had a really nice time and, overall, enjoyed our experience; however, there were some issues that could use addressing. First, the listing isn’t entirely accurate in some ways. The pictures show, prominently, a juke box in the main living area. We thought this was really neat, but we could never get it to work and there were no instructions on how to make it work. The listing also said that the kitchen was “fully stocked,” but there really wasn’t a single useable skillet in the place. There was one that we found, but it was so scratched up and the nonstick coating was flaking off. Since that’s incredibly unhealthy, we opted not to use it. The listing also shows that there’s a grill, which there were a few grill parts under the stairs in what seemed like a pile of trash, but it wasn’t obvious if there was a complete grill to use. The main sectional in the living room area has a broken seat that was very uncomfortable to try to sit on. For cleanliness, overall the place was mostly fine, but the protective covers on most of the mattresses seemed to be stained. Especially since the rental didn’t automatically come with linens (don’t worry, we brought our own!), seeing this was offputting to say the least. With all that said, we didn’t have any problems with water or plumbing like our neighbors did, and the location of the cabin is really great! It’s just down the street from a handful of good, local eateries and bars and not too far from the Big Store for last-minute needs. The view of the beach and access to the beach were also very good and convenient. To boot, the cabin allows pets (with prior approval). Being able to bring our pups made the week we rented that much better!

Relaxing Family Getaway
This was the 1st time some of our family members could join us for family vacation and this was the perfect spot for us! The layout of 2 bedrooms sharing a bath worked perfectly it also gave each bedroom a little bit of privacy. The large bunk room allowed our son to have a great adventure in the pirate themed bumk beds! Our older sons with their wives had comfortable King size bedrooms. We enjoyed the comfortable mattress in our master bedroom. The open floor plan with the kitchen dining area and living area altogether was great for all of us to gather and have a meal in spend time together! The view of the beach was wonderful! It was a great family area where we spent a lot of time on the beach. The rental property did a great job communicating about Internet outage when due to a weather event Internet was knocked out for the entire island. We are already planning to return to this house!

Excellent location, close enough to walk or drive to the beach. 3 king beds each in a separate room, pirate themed bunkroom with 6 twins, great for kids. Love all the seating, 8 at the table 4 stools at the bar, and large sectional in the livingroom. Great wifi, TV & large decks upstairs with gate and down, with a picnic tables on each. Pet & kid friendly. Thanks for a wonderful week at Crystal Beach, TX!

Good location!
The place was nicer than the pics showed and the kids really enjoyed the jukebox. The weather was raining so we didn’t get much beach time but we all enjoyed our stay and will continue to go back. We even rented a golf cart and was delivered within an hour of renting!

I didn't tell my husband that there was a JUKE BOX (filled with all the greatest hits) & I didn't tell the kids the bunks were pirate ships. Everyone was pleasantly surprised! Short & sweet walk to the beach, unobstructed views, loved it.

peaceful weekend
My family and I wanted to get away for the weekend and do absolutely nothing, this property was perfect for our peaceful weekend. Upon arrival the property was clean and very well maintained. The kids room was a plus, it has a total of 6 beds, instead of 4 bunk beds. The beach is literally a hop and a skip away which we enjoyed each day while on our get away. I would've given five stars, but we had to pay for linen and towels. This was the 1st property that I had to do that for. I also left something and housekeeping recovered it so that was a big plus. Great house, Great location. Thank you for allowing me to stay!
