Room was good and clean. breakfast was really good. Area outside was a little scruffy (probably ly not the fault of the hotel!). Really nice, friendly staff.

Loved the RN memorabilia displayed in the hotel, which is close to the historic Naval Historic dockyard and within easy walking distance of rail station and Gunwharf Quays shopping centre. We arrived by car and there is limited parking at the hotel itself but we parked in adjacent road and hotel sold us a 24 hour parking ticket so for us it worked well. There are multistorey car parks nearby. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay here again.

A really good hotel with good food, comfy rooms, friendly staff and a great location. Only negative is that the heating is a bit loud but I'd definitely stay here again

Easy book in process, efficient and friendly staff. Room was clean and tidy with tea and coffee making items available as well as shampoo and soao in the bathroom, if needed. All items jn the room clean and serviceable. Well maintained entrance and lobby makes a good first impression. Overall a good stay close to the harbour and its surrounding attractions.

Good location, easy check in, nice clean room. Breakfast average. Stayed Oct 2-5, outside temp 48-61. Heating in room was not on, told that management does not turn it on until it gets really cold. Given a space heater which heated the bedroom but not the bathroom. The heated towel rail never came on. We managed to get reasonably comfortable but the bathroom was cool. WiFi was weak on my side of the bed but able to get decent signal standing in the open doorway out to the hallway. Staff said WiFi was ok from their perspective.

Full of history really nice and relaxing hotel. Parking is a bit tight and limited. Other meter parking is available. 5 min walk up dock yard 10 min walk to town Friendly staff really comfortable bed. I can not think of a down side to staying in this hotel. I would recommend staying here and will revisit.

Looked very grand when entering. Lobby was fine, Bar was fine, Reception was ok. We was told we had a room upgrade so was quite happy. We took the lift to the 3rd floor and when the doors opened we were in shock. We had entered a 70s nightmare. The corridor was painted white over the old wallpaper, the walls had lines of conduit running everywhere, the room doors had seen better days. It was awful. We checked out each floor and they were all the same. Our room was newly painted but not finished nicely. The bathroom had been forgotten though with a lovely strip of hazard tape for a threshold and the room was cold. Can't fault the cleanliness though!! The food in the restaurant was good too and staff were friendly. A disappointing stay. I don't think we'll be back.
