"My daughter and I went to Chicago to run the marathon. Booked The River hotel as it was one of the few hotels I could find with twin beds at a reasonable price located within walking distance to grant park. The room was compact but it was warm, clean, had a microwave oven, mini fridge and espresso machine. Location was absolutely brilliant. Magnificent mile just the other side of the river and plenty of shops, restaurants, bakeries right next to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, only really had interaction at checking. Highly recommend, I certainly would stay there next time."

"Huone oli vanhan oloinen, haju tunkkainen, kokolattiamatto vaikutti vanhalta ja siinä oli kaikenlaisia läikkiä. Huone muuten välttävä, mutta kaipaisi remonttia. Pesuhuone oli remontoitu ja oli tosi siisti. Hotellin käytävillä myös vanhanaikaisen näköiset kokolattiamatot. Kokonaisuutena välttävä hotelli, mutta en menisi uudelleen. Hotellin nettisivuilla olevat kuvat antavat huomattavasti siistimmän kuvan hotellista kuin todellisuus, ne on joko photosopattu tai otettu monta vuotta sitten. Hotellin sijainti tosi hyvä, paitsi kaikenlaisia kodittomia yms norkoili hotellin läheisyydessä kadulla. "
